Not for metal style music, better for rockabilly and solos
I took a chance on this set, so it would match up to my middle and neck pickups (hot tails). I was wanting a heavy, hot, overdriven pickup that could make the dark lord bow down (lol). On looks, and specs of this set you'd think hard rock, metal even punk and poppunk. But after installing, honestly they're a bit weak. And that's putting it mildly. There is hardly any low end and crunch without adding bass and gain from your amp. I had purchased the black Invader style pickups and was thrilled! The bridge pickup was in this guitar and it was awesome! So I thought this would be even better, reading the specs on this set. Output in specs reads- 15k and below it, it says 18k output. These pickups in my opinion would be great for blues, soft rock , bluegrass , rockabilly, soft rock type tones. And I think these would be great in a telecaster type guitar perfect for country style. These are not metal crunchin' and they don't handle distortion or gain very well, before becoming muddy and shrill. These do work great with clean tones and mild gain. Individual notes seemed to jump off the fret board! I give these 4 out 5 stars and would recommend to cowboys with telecasters (lol). And jam some counrty rock! I'd recommend the LYWS Invader style for metal, hard rock, punk and grunge.

Love these PUs
I love the mellow tones that bar pickups give. One of these for the neck PU and a regular 12 pole humbucker at the bridge position is my idea of the perfect jazz guitar.

Excellent Pickups
I have an Epiphone Custom Dot. The humbuckers on it aren't bad, but I wanted a little something different, so I replaced the original neck pickup on the Dot with this neck pickup. I didn't replace the bridge pickup. I love the sound of this neck pickup when I play it alone. It's as if I purchased a great new guitar for $20. I don't know if I'll ever use the bridge pickup that I purchased, but even if I don't the neck pickup alone is easily worth $20. I highly recommend these pickups.

Worth the wait. Amazing Value.
Honestly blown away. I installed the bridge in a single humbucker Les Paul style I have. I’ve coil split it and both modes sound awesome. 14.9 full humbucker and 7.5 split. It looks great, sounds awesome and not just for this price range, just in general . Not microphonic at all. Shipping takes longer than others but I guarantee it is worth the wait for an awesome product. I will be purchasing their single coil set next for my strat style.

Inexpensive with amazing output
Dropped these into a Squier Mustang with no other alterations. These scream to be pushed up on volume and hammered with Hard Rock to Heavy Metal action. Honestly, I was only tinkering around with low cost equipment for fun but I learned that you can find amazing deals on overseas products. I already ordered a second set. They did not come with markings so I had to guess and then switch for the right effect. The wires are pre-soldered for basic configuration but can be expanded to use split pots.

Powerful
These pickups were used for a low budget build. They sound amazing compared to the high dollar pickups. Will definitely be buying more.
