Best Pillowcase I've Ever Owned! Silky Smooth
I really love this pillowcase! I bought a 2nd one last week. I bought both in the light blue color, it is very beautiful. I was a little hesitant to buy this because in the pictures it did not look very silky but trust me it is! The pictures do not do the product justice, the fabric is so silky smooth just as you would expect from 100% silk. The price is very reasonable, even cotton pillowcases are not cheap! It is so much more comfortable and cooling to sleep on compared to cotton. They have washed well in a laundry bag & I hang dry them, they wrinkle some after being washed but smooth out when you put them on your pillow. Be sure to order the right size, they come in 3 different sizes. I was also hesitant to buy because the zipper, I thought the zipper would get in the way and annoy me but I don't even know it is there. I highly recommend these pillowcases! I plan on buying more for other family members. My hair has never looked better, now I want a silk comforter & sheets too!**Update** My 2 pillow cases are still washing/wearing great, they still look and feel like new! Very very pleased with this product!

Definitely not polyester, helps with skin and hair without adding another product to your routine
I was skeptical at first, but I've already noticed improvement in my hair and skin after sleeping on these silk pillowcases for a few weeks, instead of cotton ones. I'm able to wear my hair on top of my head while I sleep without worrying about breakage in the back, which keeps the skin on the sides of my face much clearer. I have fewer flyaways/broken hairs visible when I wear my hair up in general, and my hair just looks smoother, shinier and healthier overall. I have wavy, very thick hair that doesn't have much shine without products, but most products make me break out, so I don't use them. This pillowcase is a nice workaround - my hair looks healthier (and seems to be breaking/falling out less) without the use of some goop or spray. Good for low-maintenance folks like myself! As for the material they're made of:The pillowcases I received are definitely not polyester or any kind of synthetic fabric. I can't say with 100% certainty that they are silk, but they do feel and look it. They passed the "burn test" (where you remove a few threads and carefully burn them): synthetic threads will ball up into a plasticized clump, and threads from natural sources, like silk, cotton, or wool, will shrivel, burn and turn to ash. The threads from these pillowcases turned to ash.The color (taupe) is quite true to the picture shown, although every computer monitor is different. And they feel quite nice to sleep on - almost like nothing. The packaging is far from elegant or gift-able: it is a frosted plastic zip bag with the pillowcases wrapped in cellophane and tightly packed inside. If you want to give this to someone else and have it seem *~*~*~luxurious~*~*~* you might want to repackage it yourself.

Burn test answer - yes it’s real silk!
As an experienced silk pillowcase owner (at a variety of price points/qualities), I can confirm this IS absolutely real silk, natural fiber from a silkworm that eats mulberry leaves. :)In my burn test on the inside corner fabric, you can see the smudge of genuine silk’s telltale crumbly ash (polyester/“art silk” or artificial silk burns into hard, melted-plastic lumps, never fine ash). It also displayed all the other burning silk properties including singed-hair smell, burn speed etc. (The stitching thread is definitely polyester, but that’s pretty normal.)Stitching seems pretty good—not bulletproof, a few stray threads here and there; but you can see okay machine-hemmed edges in my photo. Confident I’ll at least get a couple machine wash/dry cycles out of this (more if I line dry) before I need to deal with any holes from unraveling.Wish reviewers who aren’t experts wouldn’t accuse things of not being silk just because they “don’t feel silky,” btw... TBH very few can reliably identify silk fabric by touch. (This is why serious sewers label their fabric stashes, and use the burn test when in doubt.) Add in different fabric weave types (charmeuse, crepe, twill can all be made of genuine 100% silk, but will feel and drape so differently—just to name a few) and there is plenty of room for confusion.

Exactly What I Wanted and Expected
These silk pillowcases are satiny smooth but not "slippery" or "slimy" feeling the way artificial silk is. Upon arrival, I inspected for any defects and was impressed with the zipper. I hand washed these in a little dish bin with mild natural soap, and rinsed with a natural coconut conditioner to keep them smooth. Hang to dry and by the next morning they are done! Putting the pillowcases on the pillow when they are *just barely* damp helps prevent any wrinkling. My pillow was the exact measurements of the case, so slipping it into the case was a touch tricky but I can definitely get used to it. I'm more accustomed to the envelope style case, where the pillow just drops in. These require about a minute each to equip the pillow, which is really no time at all. They stay on the pillow much more firmly and I was highly impressed with the feel of the pillows throughout the night. They do not bunch up, wrinkle, slip off the pillow, feel sweaty, or cold. These are thin enough (16 momme) that my gel pillow still cools the skin. I totally recommend these cases, and high suggest people hand wash and dry, it only takes a few minutes and actually saves a ton of water and energy. Walmart sells dish basins that are about 6 gallons for right around $4. I hand wash these pillowcases with my bras and lingerie. Great quality product and I've already recommended to my roommate, coworkers, and friends. Well worth the price!

THESE ARE FAKE SILK. Not real silk
This is not real silk despite the tags and description. It feels like polyester or satin at best. I knew the price was too good to be true. I purchased a silk pillow case a few months ago that was much more expensive and there is a huge difference between these and the one i purchased. Was really hoping these would be the same but sadly they are really cheap knock offs. Do not recommend.

THIS IS NOT SILK.
This pillowcase is not silk. It’s 100% polyester. Based on that, these pillowcases are horribly overpriced. I was hoping to replace my silk pillowcase with a new one and unfortunately, the difference between the two was very noticeable. The hand-feel of silk should be smooth and organic, not slightly scratchy, like this one. The colour was as advertised (natural white) and it LOOKS nice, it’s just not silk. Be forewarned.

NOT SILK
It's NOT silk! I've bought silk pillow covers from Sephora and they DO NOT feel like this. Real silk is much smoother and feels much lighter. This still feels good like polyester, but giving it one star because it's not silk!

NOT Silk- misleading advertisement
I bought this pillowcase, and waited for it to arrive (which took over a month). When it did arrive, and I checked the washing instructions it said "imitation silk pillowcase" Material: 100% polyester. I am extremely disappointment, I paid for a silk pillowcase, and got polyester! They advertised that it is crafted by 16 Momme pure mulberry silk, and that it is 100% silk - NOT TRUE ... its 100% polyester! See photograph of washing instructions tag on the inside of pillow case.

the stitches ripped after the first use
I loved these pillow cases, they arrived in a very nice package, beautiful colour but very poor craftsmanship, the stitches ripped after the first use, both pillows are good for nothing now. I expected these to last for some time, very disappointed.

Silk
I read a few reviews that said these weren't silk based on feel, and for the price I thought that made sense. I liked the pattern though so went ahead and bought them. They are silk. I took out a couple of fibres and burned them, and they behaved as silk, not as a polyester or other petroleum based fibre (ie. turned to ash, did not continue to burn when the flame was removed). The individual fibres also sparkle instead of shine and it the pillowcase does warm up with friction. For the price, I'm not sure that they're 100% mulberry or that the momme is accurate but they still feel nice. The ones I recieved were a Charmeuse, as you would expect from a pillowcase. Don't discount these as polyester just because they don't feel like other silk products you have! Silk is a fibre - different production techniques like a satin weave vs a charmeuse weave or higher mommes or thread count can feel different.
