I have been using this product for a couple years now on a 150g and 230g mixed reef tank.Pros: clears up water to crystal clear within 24 hours, quality mesh bags, media stays in bag unlike finer carbon, get a good amount for the priceCons: very very dusty (black dust) and must be rinsed thoroughly. Dust gets everywhereThe pros far outweigh the cons so I will continue to use this product for my reef tanks

I was pleasantly surprised when the water in my 800 gallon goldfish pond cleared completely after about 3 weeks of placing one inside my gravity flow pebble gravel biological filter situated so water leaving the filter passes over and through the charcoal. The first one had to be replaced within a week, the next one almost 2 weeks and the 3rd lasted almost 3 weeks before each piece of charcoal in the bag looked covered in stuff.By then, the pond water is crystal clear and I only have to change charcoal bags every 3 to 4 weeks. Be sure to rinse them thoroughly with a garden hose as they are full of black charcoal dust. I ordered more for replacements and toss the used ones away.

These zippered reusable bags of activated charcoal work great in my filtration system and keep the ammonia and nitrite down at safe levels. Came filled with activated charcoal, but it will lose its punch after a while. depending on the size of your fish population. I bought a 25lb box of refill charcoal on Amazon to keep the bags functioning and the ammonia and nitrite levels down.

Exactly what I was looking for. My Koi are a lot happier now.

Good bags didn't realize they came pre-filled with carbon.

Verry large but thr perfect size for my fluval 306 canister and copatable with a fluval fx5, not for your smaller canisters. The bags are verry well made and wont spill any carbon.

Packaged nice the mesh bags can be reused for other stuff charcoal seems to works like all other charcoal I have bought.
