X marks the cloth.
Like the ridiculous sums paid for limited edition clothing, Hybird X has been gaining popularity and increasing in value daily. Like some elite trainers, the sky appears to be the limit. Whether sold on eBay or some other on line sales site, the prices for 'grails ' the rarest, most exclusive and treasured items is way up in the thousands of pounds. With these prized goods, there will always those who have the money to pay whatever the asking price, no questions asked. There will always be those keen to make money, without an initial outlay.Young men in Saltern have been recruited & trained to relieve the rightful owners of HybirdX with no damage to the threads and no regard as to the welfare of the victims.Darke is the man behind this group of thieves, a 'Fagin' to his 'boys', heartless, greedy and ruthless. While the team are immersed in this case, Marie is dealt an unexpected blow, when a DS she had been bullied by is given the opportunity to join the CID unit. The reason I haven't given this book five stars, is due to the overload of threads and red herrings throughout. Less would have been more.

A Gripping but hard hitting read
Several storylines interweave to keep the whole team on their toes but clever work finally leads to a successful conclusion

A mixed bag!
As I often find, mid-series you often get a book tidying up part storylines, introducing new mini-storylines and some holding storylines ... I think this is what I have just read! However, it was still a solid 4-star read.

PC Plod saves the plot, again!
It's good to know that the Famous Five have grown up and now live in a village called Saltern le Fen. They have lost none of their eccentric behaviour, substituting ginger beer and private school for lashings of coffee and her majesty's constabulary. Danger always afoot, bags of resourcefulness, never stumped for longer than a chapter, they fall in as easier as they fall out and what of the ending? Well one can only exclaim "Jolly geeps!"The plot plods uphill with no respite up until the 11th hour, and then all the skittles fall to a loose cannon and the resulting lucky connected ricochets, leaving us all wondering: How goes it, that Joy gets a strike each time she throws?

This thriller grips, grabs, doesn't let go, and then that huge twist at the ending could even have
men crying especially if they have their own teenage children! This is at the point when it's revealed who the perp is! He goes by Darke! He's one of the most despicable men that walked this earth in my beliefs and what he did to those boys! Usually I don't ruin or tell the ending results of the books I read! And I apologize for doing this one! It has been 14 hours since I finished the book and usually I do the review immediately! But I waited and thought! And I decided to only say this much! So PLEASE READ JOY ELLIS' THE LOST BOYSTO GET THE COMPLETE AND AWESOME STORY! THANK YOU!

Once again, a gripping page-turner
At times harrowing, but the author always manages to keep the reader’s attention and curiosity right up to the last page. Joy Ellis never disappoints.

A good read
A written book, with an ending that one doesn't expect. Not always comfortable reading, it is however realistic with situations that do occur in real life. Suitable for readers that are not over sensitive to violence

The Stolen Boys
D I Jackman and Detective Seargeant Evans have slowly overcome their fears, and injuries. But their nemesis Alistair Ashcroft is still out there somewhere. They are both back working with their team. Stolen Designer Clothes fetching sky high prices on the blackmarket. Steroid abuse. Missing boys. Are these cases related. A clever detective thriller, another not be be missed great book from Joy Ellis. Brilliant. Read this book a second time. Highly recommended.
