Would these work well for storing baking powder, baking soda, or cornstarch?

They might work for baking powder, but they are probably too small for the others. They are perfect for commonly used spices and herbs. I use a rectangular lock and lock container for pure baking soda from Amazon because it doesn't get hard. I use it for cleaning, brushing my teeth, and making a safe deodorant (half baking soda and half corn starch in a powder puff container from Amazon. You can find corn starch in a larger container with a screw top lid or use something like lock and lock. Hope this helps!

Has anyone used these to hold dry cleansers, such as beekeepers friend, comet or ajacks? If so, have they worked out well?

Do these need to be washed before use?

I would certainly wash any container of this nature that I purchase online.

How big are the holes? I plan on using these for my homemade bbq seasonings. Will i have to shake the life out of them to get a good amount of seasoni

The containers that I had purchased have holes that are approximately 6/32 large. You shouldn't have to do too much shaking. I find that a sideways shake produces more flow than a up and down shake.
