good book for children. easy to read and educational

Great book for kids! I got these for my local children's library from their wish list. The kids are excited about reading them.

I received this book with another and I have enjoyed both books! Lots of information crammed into a small chapter book. I would definitely recommend this reading for children who are interested in history but have slight difficultly understanding it. Very informational! Would buy from seller again!

Fantastic read and great introduction of the US origin for kids. I read this with my 8 and 10 yr old daughters. Both of them left with an appreciation of our founders and other great American patriots!

米国がどんな国か、その出自と本来的な性質を知るには[独立宣言]を読むのが一番近道だとレビュアーは考えています。 July 4, 1776.の全文はネットで原文を読めますので、まずそれを読んだほうがよいでしょう。 独立宣言の全文は本書には載っていないからです。 本書は米国人向けに書かれており、独立宣言の文章は既に知っていることが前提として書かれているようです。 「アメリカ独立宣言」の和訳は福沢諭吉訳がキンドル版でゼロ円で現在（201807時点）は買えますが、 「英国王、我諸州ニ内乱ヲ起サシメテ」という感じの古文調です。でも内容は容易につかめます。 原文を読んだあとで、背景や当時の前後の情勢が知りたくなったら本書が役立ちます。 「独立宣言」は英国王から搾り取られる"colonist"：入植者としての立場から書かれていますので、 大英帝国が如何に植民地を搾取弾圧する悪の帝国だったかということがよくわかります。 著者マイケル・ハリスの英文はとても読みやすい英語です。

Highly recommended. Easy read, easy to understand and informative. Not too long.
