How does it tell plants from weeds?

Anything tall enough to touch Tertill's sensors is a plant. Anything short enough to go under the robot is a weed. Included guards protect young plants and seedlings. Must be placed in a weed-free garden to start then Tertill will keep it that way!

What kind of gardens does it work in?

Gardens have to have a min 4-inch border, be relatively flat and smooth, and about a foot between plants to allow the robot to maneuver. Ideal for vegetable gardens, ornamental gardens, and herb gardens. Not recommended for cottage gardens or slopes.

The Whacker String Replacement Kit includes a 20-pack of whacker string replacements and a 2-pack of whacker hub replacements, designed to fit all Tertill Robot models. Replace strings every 1-4 weeks based on soil conditions to ensure optimal weed control.

Replacement Strings for Tertill Weed Whacker

The only wear component on my Tertill. I check them every two weeks and replace once a month or so. Easy pull out and insert in design. Tertill actually comes with a few so you may not need any the first year. Glad they are available on Amazon for convenience.

When I bought my Tertill, it worked for one season just fine. The next year, it didn't seem to be working, so I checked underneath and found it the string whacker was totally worn out.While I knew there were a lot of spare parts that came with the Tertill, I couldn't find where I put them.So I finally gave up looking around the house and ordered a kit on amazon. I was finally able to put in a replacement string.
