Q: will these work with solvent based paints?

These are nylon paint brushes, I'm not sure what works best with solvent paints but try researching/ look up what type of brush you would need...I would imagine nylon would work but haven't researched it.

Q: I know they say they work with watercolor, but do they actually work well with watercolor?

I was pretty disappointed with these brushes. I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and buying a nicer set. They didn't do well with the paint I used. (Apple Barrel acrylic paint)
