Q: Do these Wavian cans seal well enough to carry them on their sides; e.g.; on a roof basket? My old military Jerry cans did.

It depends. I have two that seal really well, and one which leaks. Same mfg. if you have to push really hard to get it to close, it seals well. If its easy to close, no it'll leak. Immediately return one you get which is t difficult to close down all the way, because it doesn't close w enough pressure not to leak.

The pictured spout is CARB. It will spray gas onto whoever holds the can. The authentic NATO spout does not have any problems.
