Aftermarket Challenger GO-KIT5, White

I ordered this to go along with the "A.O. Smith B2853 1 HP, 3450 RPM, 1 Speed, 230/115 Volts, 6.6/13.2 Amps, 1.25 Service Factor, 56Y Frame, PSC, ODP Enclosure, Square Flange Pool Motor" I also bought at the same time. Our old pump motor died, but thanks to a YouTube video titled "Seal replacement Challenger® High Flow/High Pressure pump w/Pentair Quick-Kit" I was able to replace the motor and get the pump working again. The critical pieces I needed were the shaft seals - the little ceramic donut and its corresponding spring loaded mate - and these were perfect replacements for the original.

The parts fit perfectly. My pump was compromised with pin-hole size breaches so needed to reorder the front plate assembly to repair. The part arrived in well wrapped package. The replacement was quite simple to replace and works like a charm. I would certainly recommend this repair kit. I'll bet I will get another 12 years out of my pump. Thanks, Amazon!

I didn't need all of the seals, but nice to have.

EDITED: Product arrived quickly, I ended up not using it so can't be sure it was correct for my unit, however it looked good. I initially thought that the large ring was not included, however it was just twisted in a way that made me think it was 2 smaller rings. I bought a replacement before realizing my error.

The diffuser o-ring is a square profile, but this isn't mentioned anywhere.My pump (and this seems to be the case with many other people) uses the round profile o-ring on the diffuser.The picture looks like it has a round profile o-ring, and it also has 5 o-rings, but the kit only comes with 4. The pump only needs 4, so this is okay, but it is a bit of a misleading image.Fortunately I was able to source the round diffuser o-ring at the only local pool supply store...it's part 355311.Also the little packet of lube that comes with it is very thin/runny, and not enough. I had a small tub of proper o-ring lube anyway that I use regularly on the lid o-ring, so no biggie.

I bought this rebuild kit for my nine year old, Pentair, Challenger pool pump, 7-168452-04, 35-5339. The lid O-ring, circular shaped housing O-ring, ceramic shaft seal and it's spring seal neighbor fit perfectly. It even comes with lubricant, which I didn't have. However, the difuser O-ring was not even close. It was rounded and thinner than the old one. My old one was in decent shape so I continued using it. Rebuild kit was shipped in two days and even arrived on a Sunday! Gotta love Prime!

Like other customers have mentioned, gaskets are a recommended fit for the Pentair Challenger pump. All gaskets fit and work well, except for the larger front housing gasket. The gasket included is a round larger gasket. My pump front housing requires a smaller, square gasket. I had to purchase it separately, locally. Did not purchase locally in an effort to save money. Did not end saving money in the long run. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the larger gasket not fitting pump.

These pieces were suggested as the proper replacement parts for my pool pump. However, the pump had gone through some modifications and these suggested parts do not work. Wasted money.
