This product is just as good as when my Mom used to use it in my hair when I was a kid. No, it is NOT 100% pure lanolin...It only CONTAINS 100% pure lanolin. I bought (2) 14oz jars. Makes hair nice and soft, and great for mixing essential oils into. My hair loves this stuff and I would definitely buy it again.

It grows and thickens hair.

Since I haven't actually tried it on my hair yet, and it's not exactly what I thought it was, I will give it 4 stars for now. I will say that it feels very smooth and silky on my hands. Based on the label, I thought that it was 100% pure lanolin. As the picture does not make it clear until I saw it in person, that it is "compounded with 100% pure lanolin". As you can see by the pictures that I took of the product, lanolin is actually the second ingredient after petrolatum. This is not necessarily a bad thing, I just thought it was worth pointing out that it's not 100% lanolin. I probably should have known this, based on the price. Regardless, it feels very nice on my skin, but I haven't tried it on my hair yet. I do use lanolin on my hands, as I have eczema on my fingers. This feels very smooth, even rubbing it on my hands, although I'm not sure that it would work as well as pure lanolin. I took pictures so people can actually see the list of ingredients if they're interested. I'll give this a try and see how I like it.

What I dislike is everytime I look to order lanolin, What's available & for what price is irritating. Haven't been able, (I Think) to get the same product for the same price. But, I use Lanolin to apply directly to certain parts of my body. Elbows, Knees, Heels.....anywhere callus developes quickly. I also include it in my diaper rash cream that I make on my own. My husband was in rehab in a hellish nightmare of a nursing home. The Willows of Ramapo. He'd become completely immobiled. Was always quiet. Unfortunately for him, he was never regularly checked to be changed. I took him out in the wheelchair on the first nice spring day only to see he couldn't get comfortable in the chair. All he said was IT HURT, IT HURT. Took him back to his room & checked his bottom. The pictures I took ARE SHOCKING! He was bleeding everywhere. I'd had a container of lanolin with me (in my bag of tricks). I did a proper clean up, applied lanolin everywhere. The next day, the skin was almost completely healed. Sometimes pure lanolin is the appropriate skin protectant, sometimes it may require to be mixed with another benficial to the skin for protection. It's Wonderful Stuff. You may not like the texture but you can add something to it. Cocoa Butter, Zinc Oxide, Petroleum Jelly. Play with it till you get what you like. I'll never go without it.

I HAVE used Pure Lanolin as one of the ingredients in making "Ed's Red" by far the best cleaner, lubrication and preservative I have found for firearms. , equipment and metal components. However after mixing this DAX into the recipe I am convinced it is not Pure Lanolin! The color is off and it is apparent it it does not have the properties of pure Lanolin. When a product says enriched with pure lanolin does not mean the product is a 100 percent lanolin.

I guess it's working. I mixed in other oil, plus hair vitamins.

It’s one of the best products when it comes to curly hair. It really softens the dryness and give them curly hair a nourished texture.
