Good quality, very well made, angle marking can be difficult. Nice to have in conjunction with the parallel rulers for 90 degre
Very nice quality, and the pencil holder/handle is really nice. I would like the markings of the degree scale to extend on the sides as this instrument is thick. I have to resort to my cheaper protractor as it is thinner, and easier to mark off angles. Comes in handy, but I use the parallel rulers more often, along with the compass rose on the Universal Plotting Sheets.

Another great Weems & Plath product
I work on a passenger ferry as the senior deckhand and help train new deckhands. Along with other tools for chartplotting, I wanted to be able to demonstrate triangles for those who prefer them over other tools. I had no hesitation when deciding which brand to purchase. Weems & Plath is my go-to choice.

Very useful for maneuvering board plots
Perhaps maneuvering board hand plotting is specialized and somewhat archaic but I wanted to plot several collisions of Navy ships with others to understand how they could possibly have happened. This triangular protractor was effective in laying off bearings from the ship taken as center, USS Fitzgerald r.e. MV Crystal (2017) and USS Evans r.e. HMAS Melbourne (1969). It is a very useful plotting tool.

Thick. Smooth. Usefull. Mmm.
Very heavy duty (1/4" thick) compared to the "regular grade" version and several inches larger. Has a small hole to swing headings from a divider point. I like it.

solid but inadequate
this is a heavy solid protractor that misses the mark in various ways: a. it lacks bevelled edges which makes it harder to draw a line with accuracy unless if you are standing literally above it, and b. the protractor etching lacks one-degree marks which is not practical
