Great for time boxing/pomodoro
I fully believe that time boxing works and that Pomodoro timers work. I bought this timer as a means to allocate a set amount of time without interruption to work tasks and found that I get a lot more done, with a lot less stress, as a result. The timer itself is very simple - turn the dial quickly to increment minutes, turn it slowly to increment seconds, then click the button and the countdown begins. My kids found it intuitive and were able to use it without instruction - it really is that simple. It's weighted nicely so, sitting on a desk the dial can be turned with one hand without needing to hold the timer in the other. The rubber pad on the bottom stops it from slipping. The display is nice and bright and viewable from any angle and it seems fairly power-efficient - I've used mine for a few months without needing to change the batteries. It's magnetic so when I'm done with it I clip it to the little Urbio unit organizer by my desk, so it's easy to store out of the way.For the price this is an intuitive and good quality device that does exactly what I need it to. Highly recommend!

Easy and Loud.
Only had it for a week but here goes: Love the dial. Love the sound. Love the magnet. Easy to set up or use. The dial goes into ludicrous speed and you have to dial back to find your desired time but its not a deal breaker. I'd recommend it if it were up to me. Ill come back in six months and let you know more

It's time. Get the timer.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Was looking for a replacement for a very old timer, this one is easy to use and has good volume. The numbers are big and fairly easy to set. It's got some "annoying" qualities but nothing that's a deal breaker..the time setting can be a bit finicky..especially if you want an exact time. But it take only a couple seconds to get it right. Highly recommend.

works after initial problems
When I first tried using this timer, the setting ring was locked in place, so that I was unable to turn it at all. After fooling around with it a bit, it suddenly unlocked and I was able to adjust it easily. However, for a while it seemed to switch at random between a locked and unlocked position, until it finally settled down into a usable configuration. I imagine that turning the ring must engage an internal gear, which sometimes get's jammed.Since then it has worked well, and the adjustment ring turns smoothly with little effort. Now, my only complaint is that the timer "rolls over" if increased past the the maximum (99 min, 55 sec) to zero, and rolls over if decreased below zero to 99 min, 55 sec, which I find rather clumsy. I would prefer that if one attempts to increase the time past the maximum, it just stays at the maximum, rather than rolling over, and that if one attempts to set it to "negative" time, it just stays at zero.Despite these gripes, I find it quite useful. If it continues to work without the adjustment ring locking up again, I'll be satisfied with it.

Counts both up and down.
Great timer. If you start it with the time at zero, it counts up like a stopwatch. If you dial a time into it before you start it, it counts down. That’s exactly what I need. I also like that it’s magnetic, but I have metal cabinets that I can stick it to.

A Digital Timer That Dials to Adjust Time
I bought this digital timer after a mechanical one that I I own and love just stopped ringing after a couple of years. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to go with this one. Hopefully, this timer will be more durable than the mechanical one.On my old timer, using was as simple as just turning the knob to the desired minute number and letting go. When the time elapsed, the bell would ring. What intrigued me about this timer is it works on the same idea. Instead of dialing a knob, dialing the outer ring to a desired time sets the time. The depressing the face for a click starts the alarm countdown. The timer not only sets the minutes but also seconds so one can get to very precious settings. The settings are done with one outer ring for both the minutes and seconds. A fast turn sets the minutes and slowing to almost stop or pausing then turning slowly sets the seconds. There is a little bit of hit or miss involved at first and getting used to to get the timer just right. I practiced a few times setting to 10m 00 seconds and found myself overshooting a bit, then backing up (turning counter clockwise) until reaching the proper time. They key I think is to first turn to set the minutes, the pause like a 1/2 second and turn to set the minutes. The timer also works as a stopwatch but I haven't really tried that as my main use of this timer is as a kitchen timer for cooking. The timer is made of plastic is is about the size of a hockey puck. It takes 3 AAA batteries which were included. The batteries easily fit into the battery compartment and there is a door that easily covers the batteries and is easy to remove with a finger. No need to use a coin or take any extra effort. On the back there's a rubber pad that also is magnetic. It serves 2 purposes. First, to not slide if placed on a smooth surface. Second, to stick on to something metallic like a refrigerator. Even with the rubber pad, the magnet is strong and the timer's body doesn't move when the outer ring is turned. The timer has settings which you can set to how you like it to perform. It can be set to econ mode to conserve batteries but not have the LED on all the time. There is a ring volume selection for mute, low or high. I wish there was a setting to set minutes only and to set the alarm to turn off automatically at a shorter time. The only time is 60 seconds if you don't manually stop the alarm beep.I see a trade off with this timer over the mechanical type. One is there is more turning involved with this digital timer. For example, if I want to set the timer to 50 minutes, there are more revolutions needed than a simple mechanical timer. But on the other hand, this offers more precision being digital. Here is what I like an dislike of the timer:Likes:-------- dial set for setting time- easy to read numbers- easy battery replacement door and battery holder- loud beep- digital minutes and seconds offers more precision if needed- attractive and serves as a conversation piece- won't slide of smooth countertop and has strong magnet for sticking on refridgeratorDislikes---------- no way to set only minutes- no way to set shorter beep duration- not as simple to operate as mechanicalI give the VOCOO Digital Kitchen Timer 5 stars.

This is a great timer for kids. I bought this for my son to use while brushing his teeth but he uses it for other things as well. Great purchase!
