My absolute favorite for 2mm lead
I bought this to compare to the Staedtler 502 rotary lead pointer sharpener. It is now the only sharpener I use.Pros:-small enough for easy travel use-all branded lead holders will work-provides an excellent point-intuitive, simple to use like any standard wood pencil sharpenerCons:-Only one taper level, compared to the 502 which offers a method to use a longer taper-Small enough to lose easily-shaving trap can be irritating to open for emptyingUpdate: Having now used and recommended this product, I have one significant complaint. In the event that the lead breaks inside the sharpener, you must slide the interior blade housing out via the base to clear it. No included information nor marking made this clear and I nearly broke the sharpener figuring it out.I have been using this for about a month-ish. It is incredibly handy and provides a steeper point taper than most lead holders' included sharpeners, meaning a longer, sharper point. I have been using it extra frequently and thus far it has not failed to provide a fantastic point. Easy to fit into my pocket, so I can take it with me on the go and that means I can make finer, more detailed drawings easily even just going out for coffee. I cannot stress enough how much I love this thing, and how much having it has improved even just my enjoyment of drawing. I have nearly lost it a couple of times because of how small it is, it can easily disappear on the cluttered desk, but it's simple enough to just always put it in the same place. I plan to buy a couple more to keep around, one for my car and a backup for my travel pack. However, the ONE option for taper length can be very restrictive to certain artists, vs the harder to use Staedtler 502 which gives you the option to sharpen a longer taper. I recommend this very highly to anyone who draws from the point, but possibly not for people who lay in lead from the side . Either way it's cheap enough to get it and try it yourself without major loss. Thanks for reading <3

Perfect compact sharpener for 2mm leads
This item is small, but that compactness is a perfect complement to a drawing kit. The the sharpening blade works efficiently on 2mm leads of all kinds, and the top opens and closes with a click that's more satisfying than I expected.

Perfect and Ideal for Carry- Buy It!
I have the two main lead pointers- the blue spinning Staedtler one and the tiny Kum one with the clear top. This Mitsubishi one has them both beat! First of all, my main problem with the other two sharpeners is their constant spillage of shavings. I can't take either one anywhere without getting the bag and all of my other drawing tools covered in fine graphite powder. Before I got this Mitsubishi, I had resorted to putting a piece of tape over the holes of the Krum. This Mitsubishi's swivel top seems to be purposely designed to address this problem- it opens and closes quickly and easily, effectively plugging the hole and preventing shavings from getting out. I was worried that it would swivel open in my pocket, but this has not yet happened during four months of constant use and travel. It is very tiny and feels well constructed. Mine sharpens the lead PERFECTLY, to just about the sharpest you can ever hope to get a lead. I don't use my spinning pointer anymore because it was constantly breaking my leads- I just use this and my Krum. Downsides would be the difficulty of access to its innards- others have gotten it open but I haven't really tried. I'm not sure if the blade is replaceable (Edit: The blade IS accessible AND replaceable, see photo). Apparently others have also gotten one that has a misaligned blade. Mine, however is perfect and shows no sign of dulling and I use it A LOT. Even if it did eventually "die", I have no issues with just buying another. I will probably buy 2 or 3 more anyway to keep in reserve. If you use lead holders regularly, I promise you, you want this lead pointer! The Japanese and their manga artists got this figured out.

Great but don’t break the lead inside
I would give a 5 star but, dropped it to 1 because I had a piece of lead jam into the hole and I had to find something just as small and sharp to break it out. Other wise it’s a GREAT sharpener

Awesome sharpener.
Superb sharpener for 2.0 mechanical pencils. Sharpens to a VERY sharp point in just one turn. I use mechs with different color leads in art to make extremely sharp detail. The sharpener is only about 1.5 tall. It's very small. I would highly recommend it for sharpening mechanical pencil leads. I am buying another one in case I manage to lose the one I have. I like it that much. It is easy to store too. :)

Nice Sharpener
I love the fact that it is small but not as small as some of the others, like the pack of 3 tiny sharpeners with windows. Although they all have a special place in my working environments. I like to keep this one at home. I love the point it makes and the reception that catches the lead can hold lots of shavings. It seems to be very well made, and I would expect nothing less from Uni company. I like working with very thin leads and with thus Sharpener I get that thinness but still able to work with a thinker lead when I need it. So that means I don't have to carry around different sizes of mechanical pencils. It was a very good price on top of all that so I ordered 2!

Works well...however
This sharpener works quite well, brings the lead to a needle point and traps the shavings nicely. However, I use this sharpener with slightly softer 2B lead and the apex of the sharpened point easily breaks off in the sharpener. The only way I have found to clear the broken tip is to prize open the bottom insert and push out the broken bit with a knife. After the first time this occurred I started using greater care to keep the lead perfectly aligned but it still happens occasionally. I haven't had this happen with HB lead so it might just be a thing with softer lead.
