Appears to work well after limited use, exceptional customer service
I purchased this as a replacement for a Leifheit, which appeared to fail at the end of last year's crop. I have used the Press2Pit for only 2 quarts of pie cherries (huge amount left from previous years), so do not have a long-term evaluation (do not know how well the unit would hold up under long-term use). I cannot rate 5 stars without longer use.Positives: exceptional customer service, appears to work well, separate insert for smaller (pie) cherries, prefer the suction cup to a clamp.Negative: cannot purchase just replacement plastic gaskets if you need a new one.Do read the instructions. I tried using the insert in the unit for the first quart of cherries; it would work better with larger cherries. The smaller insert (which Leifheit does not provide) does well with pie cherries, but I used the tab (gasket) with shorter slits; the metal +-shaped end of the plunger is designed for the larger slits.I had very prompt responses to questions from the seller. He sent me a second unit at no charge after I commented on the problem with the insert designed for smaller cherries and the corresponding tab. I suggested sending only another pair of tabs with larger slits, but it is not possible to order a spare: if you damage both of those gaskets, you will need to purchase another unit.

The good, is three pounds of pits went into the ...
It pitted 60% of our small pie cherries, fresh from our tree. The plastic plate to keep the pits in the bowl jammed when the pit got caught between the pit plunger shaft and the plate the pit is made to pass through. To much play in the plastic shaft so the spike simply got forced to the side of the pit, jamming it so hard you had to force it to let go of the pit. Once bent, the shaft would not line up with the plastic insert anymore. The only way to use it was to remove the insert. Now the pit can come back with the cherry and go into your bowl, resulting in having to have screen every cherry. The good, is three pounds of pits went into the container and the bad - two pounds stayed with the cherry. Finally after another pit jam, the handle palm plate broke clean off when I tied to pull the plunger back from the jammed pit. To much week soft plastic. Great ideal but needs a steel shaft with an all steel plunger to prevent excessive play in the parts. Great concept so I got two of these. After the first one failed right away, I returned them both for a full Amazon refund. I will continue to look for an all metal pitter.

So poorly made it's offensive, and downright dangerous.
I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but this product is so poorly made that I find it offensive. Here's a list of the problems that I noticed with it:1) Most of the cherries end up with their pits still in them. This is downright dangerous if preparing cherries for children.2) The gasket slide out of place the first time I used it, then completely broke the second time.3) All the parts are obviously cheaply made.4) It's not dishwasher safe.5) The cherries don't roll out after you pit them.6) The base is frosted so you can't confirm visually if the pit was removed.7) It comes with an extra part making set up confusing.8) The lever to activate the suction base is hard to turn.9) The cradle doesn't position the cherries in a centered position, so you have to center them with your fingers. Again, dangerous.I could actually go on, but that should be enough for you to avoid this horrible product.

Press2 Disappointment
Disappointed! I was looking forward to getting ( Press To Pit ) Ordered 2 of them. Even paid $24 Shipping to get them here fast. The Crosshair pieces are to flimsy the pit pushes it out of place. ( Yes I tried both sizes ) The Pitter Rod pushes off to the side and stabs the red plastic way to ease. NOT worth $35 Ever! Oh, the Suction foot on the bottom worked great. That's how it got 2 stars. In the photos As you can see I hadn't done very many Cherries for 30 mins works. 60 Cherries a minute. Never going to happen for anyone!

It works OK with small uniform cherry, but if I were to do it again I would just buy the old style single pitter. As a matter of fact I did after I bought this one and I use it rather then this one.

Cheap quality
This pitter is fair in quality and design. It works pretty well but it has a rubber insert where the plunger goes through the cherry...that chips off and you can't find the pieces. I responded to the email the company sent and never heard back a word. The replacement rubber piece doesn't stay in the machine at all. The plastic is very cheap on the top portion and it is not dishwasher safe. I would not buy it again. Should have returned it but just too busy.

Large Cherries Require Intervention
The large Bing Cherries are too big to fit into the depression that catches the cherries and work correctly. The plunger misses the pit. However, I can place each cherry into the depression oriented with the stem end toward the plunger and it works fine. It just takes a few extra seconds per cherry to do this. I haven't tried it with smaller tart cherries. It will probably work better with them.
