TSA limits still apply, so you would have issues as a carry-on if it contains liquids. For air travel, the plus to this might really be repacking it in a checked bag. You have all your stuff organized in one place and you can hang it where you want to. Beats digging through your suitcase for that little tube that slipped to the bottom. Even better on a "fly-drive" trip.
