1001 Illustrations That Connect: Compelling Stories, Stats, and News Items for Preaching, Teaching, and Writing

I have collected many "Homiletic" books; collections of stories that may prove useful in sermon building. Most of them consist of 90% inapplicable stuff versus 10% of usable material - and this results in a great deal of wasted time trying to "mine" the book. In the case of "1001 Illustrations...", the book has much more usable material for my purpose. However, in addition to the better quality of collected stories, the fact that the CD-ROM accompanying the book consists of a directory that links together Word documents holding all the material is such an added benefit. Not only can I easily cut and paste material (much easier than even using Kindle) but I can also amend / highlight the material of most worth, making a revisit on the topic so much easier to hone in on the best stuff. I would trade the whole collection I have of other such books just to have this one!

This is a good book with lots of helpful illustrations. Sometimes, the illustrations in this book would help me think of illustrations from my own life - which was also another good reason I'm glad I bought this book.

I have read a lot of illustrations for Christian teaching and this is top notch. Well worth the price. Documented with the source of each story and Scriptures that go along with the concept presented.

The book '1001 Illustrations That Connect: Compelling Stories, Stats, and News Items for Preaching, Teaching, and Writing' doesnt provide valuable content for $20/- This book shouldn't be priced no more than $5/-I thought that AMAZON is looking at the pricing. Obviously not.

I am really enjoying this book and it has been beneficial to my ministry. It has great illustrations that can be used as introduction or closing for a message or speech.
