Superb American comedy
As a Brit, I had heard mention of Portlandia every now and then from my American colleagues. Keen to understand why my friends were obsessed with this comedy, and decided to jump in!I was pleasantly surprised - from the opening sketch I was hooked and I watched these two seasons (and the third) in a week. The recurring characters are varied and interesting without becoming cliches of themselves (as something like Little Britain quickly became). The sketches can be quirky and interesting and there are some fantastic subtle parodies throughout the series.I really would encourage you to watch these series. Ironically, I really want to visit Portland now - just to see how true it all is!

Celebrating the Absurd!
Was a big Sleater Kinney fan and love Wild Flag too. When I saw Carrie Brownstein was involved I had to buy it. Lovingly sends up overly zealous "alternative" lifestyles in Portland. Exaggerates its characters to the nth degree. Some great guest artists such as Steve Buscemi, Aimee Mann, Heather Graham, Gus van Sant, Edward James Olmos and Kyle McLachan as the Mayor. Great fun and makes you think about getting too precious with regard to subcultures. It's a blast!

A lot of crude humour, only some truly funny sketches
The funny parts are excellent but the hit rate is only 1 in 10 sketches.

Good and quirky
Very funny program about modern life of .... millenials (?) in Portland Oregon. Maybe not for everyone, try to watch a trailer before buying.

Worth shelling out for
Absolutely hilarious. Armisen's a stand-up funny guy, but Carrie Brownstein - ostensibly a musician - has a find comic touch about her

Sehr lustige Serie
. Lustig sind auch Toni and Candice aus dem feministischen Buchladen ("Please, don't point to anything—your finger looks like a penis!") oder die "dumpster diver", die aus Überzeugung nur von wirklich ekligem Müll leben.
