Pacific Adversaries - Volume Three: Imperial Japanese Navy vs The Allies New Guinea & the Solomons 1942-1944: 3

Very disappointing and expensive
I had some reservations about this book and it's price. For such a small volume the price could be a little high, but perhaps the content would mitigate this. In fact this book is very poor. Of the sixteen episodes two are irrlelvant. The crash of a C-47 and that of the B-17 flown an American TV writer hardly qualify unless gremlins and bad weather are classed as adversaries! Of the others the single loss of a bomber on a night mission, the unsuccessful bombing raid of a Japanese flying boat, a single inaccurate P-38 claim.... in fact only two or three of episodes are of any great interest and in all of these the content is no more than a brief account of aerial battles in which bost sides massively overclaim. Some interest but I won't buy any more of this series.
