Definite read for everyone in hospital marketing/communications
This is a good, easy read with a lot of valuable/interesting information and insights. I loved the case studies and learning from a lot of people that I follow on Twitter. I'm giving it four stars only because I found some chapters more valuable than others. I'm thinking about buying the hardcover version so that I can highlight things and write notes in the margins but either way, it's a great resource!

Clear. Concise. Effective.
This book is written in a manner that allows practitioners and lay people alike to clean valuable insights. If I had any criticism or would be that the message seems to be very narrowly focused on digital marketing. I feel a little more attention could be paid to other methods of marketing with creative insight.

Perspectives from those who live and breath marketing and the patient experience
Okay, so I'm one of the authors of the book, but there are nearly two dozen other articles that round out this project, and well, I'll focus my attention there. Bierbaum put in a lot of legwork to assemble a broad range of content experts who give tangible this-is-how-you-do-it nuggets, as opposed to the softer and more prevalent this-is-why-you-should-do-it decree. Traditional marketers, non-profit strategists, patients and others all chime in to uniquely share what they see and experience day to day in their hefty slice of the marketing/social engagement/patient experience pie. Before you sign up for the next big healthcare marketing conference, do yourself a favor and first plow through this quick read. As fun as it would be to hang out a few days in a hotel in Orlando or San Diego, you may find that what you're looking for is right here in Hospital Marketing.
