Used for something besides computer equipment!
We do not use this on computer equipment but instead our TV, receiver and DVD player. We live in an older neighborhood. With that being said, we are subject to power "flickers" and short outages. Every time our power would flicker, we would lose the TV signal as well as our internet router would have to "reboot". Now, I have TWO of these...one on the TV equipment, the other on the internet router and modem. Besides giving us surge protection, now when the power flickers or goes off, we do NOT lose TV nor internet!1

APC BE1050G3 ups , default shipping battery is Leoch 9.0 AH
load tested at 550+ watts , worked goodthe Replacement battery is APCRBC164 ,however ,new BE1050G3 units ship with Leoch 9.0 AH batteryoder chemical smell from ups and battery hassignificantly reduced in these couple of weeks .the Battery was fully plugged in during shipping .( very surprised to see that )the unit was powered off, but still energizedwith the connected battery.APC support confirmed to me ,Leoch 9.0 AH is the correct shipped battery .APC support suggested that thisBE1050G3had been powered up at\fromamazon shipper ( amazon )before shipping and that is whythe battery was plugged in during shipping .( shipper forgot to unplug it ? )Battery measured 12.87 voltswhen i removed the bottom cover .The relays sound goodduring power on and Load test .adjusted the trip voltage to96 to 136 vac window , Amber .( default is Red 92 to 139 )paper manual included.do NOT expect yourBE900G3 and BE1050G3( most likely the entire BE series )to come with an APC battery ,...it will NOT .they are coming with a Leoch batterysame battery as the BE900G3 comes with .My guess is , this Leoch 9 AH battery is HR, High Rateto reach 540 and 600 watts .because a GP General Purspose 12 AH battery canreach about 500 watts for 5 minutes ,... csb GP 12120 .it might be able to reach 600 watts for 2 minutes, butcsb GP12120 battery is physically larger( wider )If BE1050G3proves to be as good as APC 450 VA ups have been ,than BE1050G3 will be a winner .comes with PowerChute and USB cable,Printer to Type A . haven't used it .noted:there is a chemical smell with this APC BE1050G3 ups .not burnt ,...just a chemical smell . It was like that Out Of Box .i think smell is coming from Leoch battery.( the battery works, but i already replaced batterywith a csb brand battery )it might be the plastic case of the battery that smells ? ,...no sulfer oders .UPS's Battery Goal :BE1050G3 has 2 minute run-time out of box .butas battery decreases in capacity, in a couple of yearsthe run-time might reduce to 1.5 min ,... 1 min ,... 30 seconds.to have 2 minute run-time at battery End Of Life ,a larger battery will be neededto reach this goal .csb UPS 12580 batteryis rated 4 minutes at 600 watts when new .csb UPS 12580 physically fitsboth BE1050G3 BE900G3 .( substitute battery brands might nothave same capacity as csb UPS 12580 )

keeps my pc and monitor from turning off so all good here =)
Remember the following details about the UPS:The UPS arrived securely packaged, and the setup was quick and easy. After running some tests, I discovered that it can keep my PC and monitor running for about 14 minutes, providing ample time to save any work and safely shut down my computer. The only downside I can think of is that there may be spacing issues for certain plugs that require extra space.Key features to note:- 1050VA/600W power capacity- 8 total NEMA 5-15R outlets: 6 for battery backup and surge protection, 2 for surge protection only- 2 USB charging ports (Type A and C)- ENERGY STAR Compliant for efficiency- User-replaceable battery- Wall-mountable design- 3-year warranty and $75,000 equipment protection policy- LED indicators and audible alarms for status updates

Must have purchase for Home business
Works flawlessly, have always purchased UPC branded UPC for work and home. Used to be IT procurement manager for large companies and we always purchased UPC branded UPS's.I use this one to plug the following items into it: IP Gateway, 8 port Smart router, EERO Device and a NVME NASThis provides excellent surge protection and provides a few minutes of network uptime if power is lost.

Old model, APC not much help
I like(d) this product. I've bought four of the APC Back-UPS of varying capacity (2 x BE850xx). They work great for docking station, monitors, and router(s). My issue is that the last one I purchased (last month) didn't work.Problem Description: the power light blinks green 16 times and then goes dark and the continuous tone starts and does not stop until I turn the unit offWhen I tried to return it, there is no "Return Items" option in "Orders" but there is a button for "Get Product Support". I went through all the options: "Troubleshoot on your own", "Get help from Amazon", and "Contact the manufacturer" with no satisfactory resolution."Troubleshoot on your own" - I went through all the steps (e.g., charging for 24 hours, Brain Dead Reset, etc.)"Get help from Amazon" - concluded that persistent overload condition meant I needed to replace the battery; Amazon gave me a credit for cost of replacement battery. I was happy but after replacing the battery the problem remained."Contact the manufacturer" - I was told "Upon checking, your unit was manufactured on year 2017, it is now 7 years old...life expectancy of the UPS is 7 to 10 years and for its battery it has life expectancy of 3 to 5 years." Then he goes on to try and sell me a model BR1500MS2.In summary, this model is an older model so it'll be more risk and less reliable. I think it is worth spending another $80-$100 because you are essentially buying time - more time to get use out of the product.
