Excellent translation
Suburb translation with insightful translators notes. As with most Tai Chi books of the period the concept are complex and the depth of understanding aligned with the readers understand of the system. Can’t wait for the release of volume 5.

Unclear what audience would benefit from this book.
This book would be of interest only to those within the art who are tracing through the historical sources. The author though writes as if his audience is those of beginners who are being let into the core concepts of the art.For my part, I came to this book from Wing Chung whilst exploring the southern Chinese arts more widely looking for explanations of such concepts as 'sensitivity.' This book does evidence what sensitivity might be within the art but ultimately disappoints -I think- to demonstrate that well for those within the art, and certainly not for visitors to the art such as myself.I would suggest to students of the art that they begin elsewhere.
