How accurate is synscan goto? is it as good as nexstar?

As long as it is polar aligned properly, it is very accurate. This is an EQ mount with Alt-AZ functionality and Nexstar is a Alt-AZ mount. Each has its own advantages. The accuracy is very much depending on how well each mount is initially aligned.

All of the pictures of the atlas pro that i've seen there is never a cover over the polar alignment eyepiece. does it have a cover like the atlas?
