HTH 52032 Super Green to Blue Shock System for Swimming Pools, 7.2 lbs

This product works as advertised. I had a very green pool that I could not fix no matter what I tried. So after doing some research I settled on trying HTH Green to Blue.Long story short, after using this product my pool was crystal clear in less than 24 hours. To be honest, I was shocked at how well it worked! With that said, there are some things I think people should be aware of regarding this product.The directions on the box are very clear and easy to follow. The box comes with 4 bags of shock and 2 bags of flocculant(pulls algae to bottom of pool for vacuuming). This amount is for 20,000 gallons. My pool is 24’ round above ground which is closer to ~13,000 gallons. I used 3 bags of shock and 1 bag of flocculant and it worked perfectly for my situation.Make sure your filter has the ability to run on “recirculate” and “waste”. I first added the 3 bags of shock while my filter was running. After that, I changed my filter to “recirculate” and added the bag of flocculant directly into the skimmer. I let the filter run on “recirculate” for one hour. After the hour I shut the filter off and let it sit over night.The next morning I came out to my pool and was pleasantly surprised that the water was clear and all of the green was sitting on the bottom of the pool! Now for what I believe is what people should be aware of with this product.I had to set my vacuum up and change the filter to “waste”. On this setting the water you vacuum up is directly expelled out of the filter. When vacuuming I had to move slowly as to not kick up the algae on the bottom of the pool. This is a recipe for expelling a lot of the water from your pool!When all said and done, I had to do this vacuum to waste method 3 times before it was completely clean. Because, no matter how hard I tried I still kicked up some algae that resettled after I finished vacuuming the first two times.In total, I vacuumed a little more than a third of the water out of my pool. I basically kept the hose running in my pool while vacuuming. So, when buying the product keep in mind that on top of the cost of purchase you’ll have a spike in the water bill that month! Obviously still better than draining the whole pool and starting over, but just something I thought people should be aware of.Again, my pool is crystal clear now. I would absolutely recommend this product! Just be aware that it’s not as easy as just adding the product and walking away, there is definitely work involved! But again, it WORKS!

When everything else fails, HtH Green II Blue does the job. When our pool looked like a swamp after some back to back heavy storms, this stuff turned it blue again. I live in West Texas where we are under constant watering restrictions due to an ongoing drought. Draining the pool was not an option unless we just didn't want to use the pool for the rest of the season. We tried expensive products from our local pool store and it was a huge waste of money, it did absolutely nothing. We've also tried products from an online Pool Supply website with little to no results. Don't waste your money on other stuff, all you need s HtH Green II Blue. If you have an above ground pool with no vacuum to waste system, just do what I do: get a shop vac and a long pool hose that fits (I used an adapter). After shocking the pool with Green II Blue 1 and adding the flocking from Green II Blue 2 per instructions, the next morning I start the suction of the pool hose with vacuum attachment with the shop vac. With the shop vac still running I pull the hose out of it and lay it on the ground. The water is still flowing and I can start vacuuming the pool bottom.

We had several days of near 100 degree temps (pool temp climbed to 94!) followed by 2 days of rain. It was and algae making dream. We ended up with a pool of pea soup. After spending a couple hundred dollars at the pool store and 7 days of chemicals, scrubbing, & vacuuming, we got it clear.Then....it happened again. I bought this praying it would help a little and maybe save me some time and money in chemicals. I did not want to spend another $200 at the pool store.This stuff worked miracles! It says it can take 24-48 hours. This picture is after just 14 hours. We spent 2 or 3 hours vacuuming and refilling the water we lost in the vacuuming process. If you take the time and make sure you follow the directions exactly, you should have no issues. This WILL NOT work if you cannot vacuum to waste.This product saved me money and we were able to swim less than 24 hours after treatment.

I've never been too impressed with HTH products. The chlorine granules always left a lot of residue and the active ingredients were lower than other brand. But Super Green to Blue intrigued me. I had a problem this spring opening the pool and this late summer an unexpected stretch of warm weather after Labor turned the pool to pea soup. I thought I'd burn through a lot of D.E. from backwashing. BUT SUPER GREEN TO BLUE performed as advertised. I ordered this for spring. Fortunately the packaging leaves some air space because it was damaged by UPS but the product was intact.

So first of all let me begin by saying how much I LOVE summer and my pool. It typically is VERY low maintenance for me and I swim allllllll the time. In a pinch, I purchased this shock system as I could not get my normal shock. (Our pool was NOT green at the time of purchase or use. It was purchased as a precautionary measure bc of several days of rain dropping our chemical levels.) It should be noted before reading on that I have never in my entire life written a bad review or provided negative feedback; however, since using this system, we are STILL fighting getting my water clear. And this has been going on for more than a month now!!!! We went from a crystal clear, blue paradise to a green, cloudy disaster despite regular vacuuming, filtering, clarifying, and even reshocking (with our normal shock system). It’s a complete mess!!!!!! (Slowly getting better but still a mess!!!!!) This is our 10th pool season and I will never purchase this shock system again.
