Kitab Ash-Shifa bi ta'rif huquq al-Mustafa, (Healing by the recognition of the Rights of the Chosen One), of Qadi 'Iyad (d. 544H/1149CE) is perhaps the most frequently used and commented upon handbook in which the Prophet's, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, life, his qualities and his miracles are described in every detail. Generally known by its short title, Ash-Shifa, this work was so highly admired throughout the Muslim world that it soon acquired a sanctity of its own for it is said: "If Ash-Shifa is found in a house, this house will not suffer any harm... when a sick person reads it or it is recited to him, Allah will restore his health." Ash-Shifa gathers together all that is necessary to acquaint the reader with the true stature of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with the esteem and respect which is due to him, and with the verdict regarding anyone who does not fulfil what his stature demands or who attempts to denigrate his supreme status - even by as much as a nail paring. Review: Great book - A bit pricey and the print a little small for me, but very interesting book. Review: Product matches the condition as advertised - As mentioned the book was almost like new

A treasured companion alongside the Qur’an
I have not yet begun reading this book, but I felt compelled to share why acquiring it means so much to me. Ash-Shifāʾ by Qāḍī ʿIyāḍ is one of the most highly regarded and enduring works in Islamic scholarship on the life, character, and rank of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. For centuries, it has been read, taught, and cherished across the Muslim world as a source of love, reverence, and deeper understanding of who the Prophet truly was. Owning this book feels like welcoming a lifelong companion. I intend to read it slowly and reflectively over the holidays, and to keep it close for the rest of my life alongside the Holy Qur’an. Even before opening it, there is a sense of weight and responsibility, knowing that this is not merely a biography, but a work that aims to cultivate proper adab, respect, and love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I am grateful that this classic has been made accessible in English through a respected translation, and I look forward to benefiting from it for many years to come.
