Taste is subjective. I think this is a BEAUTIFUL album.

All I can say is WHAT!, WHAT!, WHAT!. Yesssss, unbeatable as a mixture of jazz and hip-hop and a poetic call to arms in the fight against the diabolical AIDS epidemic of the 90's decade. Anyone who is a true music connoisseur will love this collective featuring some of the best "golden era" American hip-hop artists, such as G.U.R.U, Digable Planets and Pharcyde. If your are a jazz purists, you will be torn apart when you hear artists like, Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock and Roy Ayers "instrumentalizing" this masterpiece. As a great bonus if you are one of the fortunate ones to gain this, there is a bonus CD, featuring the masterwork of John Coltrane, "LOVE SUPREME". This is a supreme piece of work to have. DON'T SLEEP!

This is an cd!! It brings together an eclectic group of musicians and rap artists!! An unusual collaboration but it works tremendously! Hearing The Last Poets tell it like it is, is worth the price of admission alone. Nocturnal Sunshine with Herbie Hancock and MeShell Ndegeocello hits it out the park!!! I love this. This CD stays in heavy rotation on my player. I purchased it because I liked and recognized several artists such as Me'shell Ndegeocello, Donald Byrd, Digable Planets, Groove Collective and Roots. I love their songs, but the others are excellent as well. It takes me back to a time when rappers and singers actually had something to say. Even though it was recorded in 1994, it still sounds fresh today. Luv it!

Outstanding..

I owned this album when it first came out. It disappeared in college and I was craving it for many years. I couldn't find it at any record store but found it online. I now listen to it and still appreciate the creativity of these collaborations. Great concept and good cause.

Wonderful mixture of genres by such talented artists...I've listened to it at least 10 times in the last 3 days, discovering a little more with each listen.
