J-LAT Lateral Subluxation Support, Right, XX-Large

This brace is day and night for me on knee pain. Without them (I do both left and right knees) I'm lucky to go 15 minutes a couple times a week on the treadmill. With them I can go and hour plus 6 days a week. I'd done all the stretches and support strengthening exercises but wasn't getting anywhere until I got these. Once able to get on the treadmill it seemed to support my PT for same. I've Had these about a 1.5 years and use them considering vacations, travel and such likely 5 days a week for about an hour each time. They are still very functional although the ends are starting to cosmetically fray. I have tried three other styles of knee braces and these help me most by far--no comparison.They seem to be made with Neoprene (wet suit material). You will sweat underneath them as they do not breath. The sizing chart is Wrong. These Run Small, way small. I measured several times just above the knee as shown and was solidly in the middle of the Medium size by the chart. But I could barely get the Mediums on and it felt like I wasn't getting any circulation. Nevertheless, I wore them painfully for a week about 30 minutes a day thinking/hoping they'd loosen up. They didn't. I ate the cost due to having worn them so much. I then desperately bought the Large size. They were quite snug but doable. After a couple of months they loosened up a little and have stayed the same until now. Thus but at least 1 to 1.5 sizes bigger than shown. If what you get seems crazy tight. Send back for next size immediately because they won't stretch much.I like these so much, I'm considering buying a second set to have when these eventually wear out, just in case they stop selling them, or make a dumb "improvement" to them

UPDATE: I got the next size up since the original size didn't come close to fitting and this time, the brace went over my knee (with tons of force to get it that way) but was extremely uncomfortable, as if it was still way too small. I will not be using this brace ever again. Extremely disappointed. It was measured by my physical therapist and he shares the same disappointment. I changed my rating from a two star to a one star after trying both sizes.Original review: The sizing for this brace is WAY off. I measured exactly where the instructions indicate (my physical therapist did the same to make sure we had the same measurement), I ordered the size per my measurement, and when I received it the brace didn't come close to fitting. I could barely get it over my calf, there was no way I was getting it up over me knee, and I'm sure it would have been painful if I could have. I'm disappointed because this is the type of brace I need based off my injury and my PT wants me to reorder it the size up so we're just stuck, brace-less, hoping the next size fits but who knows. I can't speak for the actual brace itself because I couldn't get it on, but I'm giving it two stars as a plea to please please please get your sizing right.

The product is very conforming to my knee, and the stress if customizable, better than on other braces I've used. The issue is that this brace tries to address J-lat symptoms by applying stress to pull the knee cap up and to the outside (lateral pull). MY symptoms are reduced by pulling the knee cap down and to the inside (medial). Now looking at the brace, it's almost as if I should have purchased the opposite side (purchased the left knee brace for my right knee).

I have used just about every brace available. I have quite a large collection of them. My PT recommend a "J" brace so I thought I would give this one a try. I love it. This is the first one that I feel works! It stabilizes my patella and helps with the pain from my arthritis.

Go up a size! My measurement was in the low end of the medium size range according to the product size chart. I’m 120lbs, 5’5 and I ordered a large and it fits perfectly. It’s more comfortable to wear over tight leggings and it does a great job keeping my knee in place. The two Velcro straps make it easy to adjust the tightness to keep the brace in place.

I love how much stability this gives my knee. I am able to walk without the support of a walker or my husband. The downsides: 1) I ordered bigger than what the measurements suggest and it is still way too tight which is increasing my pain. 2) The circle part around the knee cap is tearing. My physical therapist could not believe how bad it was withing 2 weeks of having it. 3) It is almost impossible to get this thing off most likely due to how small it runs. I cannot get a bigger one because this is the biggest size I have found. I may need to try another company.

Works well. I like the straps and the side support. The knee cap opening needed to be trimmed slightly so the brace would not be pressing down towards the joint. If the measurements are borderline go to the larger size. I had to return it and get the larger size. Return of the new one was prompt. I think it is reasonably good and I will order another one for the opposite side soon.

If you have big thighs don't bother because I bought this XXL knee strap. I can get it on my leg but it just slides down. I don't know if this is happening for anyone else who does not have big legs. I ordered this large size thinking it would accommodate and it defeats the purpose. I have a more costly one that the orthopedic doctor got for me and I saw it cost $349 through my insurance company. Wish I could afford that again, I couldn't so I got this one. However, if it won't stay up then it doesn't do me any good. The strap slides down and the part where my knee pokes out is actually on my shin. When it is up on my knee it keeps my knee cap in place for these reasons i rate it a 2.

It has been a few months since I received this item (end November). I noticed 2 weeks ago that the elastic that supposed to provide support to the knee has become very weak and wasted. The fabric around the knee cap is torn and it really is of a very poor quality.

Great support, does it job and is really helping with my knee pain.

utter garbage. Within 15-20 seconds of putting in on to test the fit after receiving it in the mail the entire seam on the back split from top to bottom making in useless.
