Mean slicer but be careful opening the clamshell
This is a very nice knife for slicing through fruits, veggies and meats. The slicing action is aided by the blade's thin stock; by the same token, this blade is probably not meant for heavy cutting. The blade's factory edge is ground very sharp. The edge bevel could have been ground more evenly but it is hard to complain too much given the price and the semi-premium steel used (CTS-BD1N - a nitrogen steel which I came to like from using two other high-performing Spyderco knives featuring the same steel).A little caveat about getting this knife out of its clamshell package: I used a sharp blade to open the clamshell and found that, for the most part, a fair amount of pressure needed to be applied to the blade to cut through the plastic packaging, especially when rounding the corner, so to speak, as I cut toward the portion housing part of the Z-Cut's handle. However, after cutting into that "corner", the plastic seems to thin or give out abruptly and, if one does not let up quickly on the pressure applied to the cutting blade, the latter may end up traveling some distance beyond the clamshell. Therefore either be vigilant when opening the clamshell using a knife and/or give the whole thing a wide berth to avoid accidentally cutting yourself or someone else nearby.

A lot of knife for the price.
The handle is really comfy, BD1-N blade steel and made in the US. Gave the edge a quick touch up, removed a little flashing on the molding (end of the handle) and prepped dinner with it. Blade has a lot of flex and will work well as a boning knife, and could probably be a really good fillet knife. I would recommend a plastic blade guard.TLDR; Pleasantly surprised and would recommend it.

Great for the cost
I purchased this and other Spyderco kitchen knives as I have been loyal to Spyderco pocket knives for years. The blade is sharp and nice, but thinner than more expensive knives. A professional sous chef cooked a large meal at my home with them, and was very impressed by the quality, and used them even though he brought his $1000+ knife set along. I've had it for a week, so I can't comment on longevity of sharpness and sharpening. I was concerned that the handle may be slick and cheap, but just the opposite: the polymer is solid, has nice friction, and hand feel.

Great value
Really nice for 20 bucks. Blade is very thin, almost flexible like a fish boning knife. Razor sharp. Excellent ergonomics for a 6’ 3” 200 lb man.

Very thin, uncomfortable and unintuitive.
The knife is sharp but it's so very thin that it's impossible to cut anything straight! It screams "Cheap!!!" because it is cheap. Next time, I will invest more money into a better knife, this one isn't worth keeping or returning.

SHARP, SHARP SHARP!
This is the perfect tool for cutting crust off bread and more. Wonderful tool! Worth the money.

Super thin and slicey.
Excellent steel. Darn near replaces a pairing knife. Cheese is a breeze, tomatoes...insane performance.
