Young at Heart
So, this little pan encouraged me to bake! I'm not too fond of being in the kitchen. After reading reviews regarding burning the cake, cooking unevenly, etc., I may have come up the solution; I put the pan on a cookie sheet, baked it for 20 min more than box recommend and wala! Have a perfectly baked cupcake cake! I am going on a baking streak............Enjoy.......this pan is for any age as I will be 57 soon and getting ready to bake one for myself for my Birthday!

Cute, but not Really Functional
Even though this cake pan looks cute it does have a few draw backs, mainly:1) The pan is made of a very lightweight metal and that makes it easier to burn the cake, especially if you consider point (2)2) The bottom side o the cupcake shape is much shallower than the top, and when you consider the above point, it is very easy to end up with a burnt portion of the cake.Although we have one success with it, it does take a lot of monitoring and rotating just to prevent the bottom part from burning badly! But because it is much shallower (something like a third deep), it is almost impossible to get the bottom part to come out as moist and soft as the top part of the cake.I wouldn’t recommend this, even though it does look cute.

Great with a few simple baking modifications!
My cake came out great! I was so leery after reading some of these reviews, but I followed ones recommendation of baking 20 min longer than the cake mix instructions & I was good to go.What I did was paint the inside of the pan with vegetable oil (some did pool the bottom of the pan, which I was able to pour back into the cake mix before if went into the pan), preheated oven to 350* & baked x 60 minutes. My 3, 4 & 5 (okay she’s actually 6 now) year olds all got a kick out of it!

Easy to decorate, hard to cook
Very cute cake, very easy to decorate with little to no decorating skills. I had to let the cake cook about 25 minutes longer and the bottom of the cake was too tough to eat. But I used this as a centerpiece with cupcakes all around it so it was cute as that. You could eat the cupcake top part of the cake just fine.

I had to lower the temp in my oven so the bottom wouldn't burn but the top wasn't done I recommend baking low and slow
The cake baked very uneven in the top cupcake part. I had to lower the temp in my oven so the bottom wouldn't burn but the top wasn't done I recommend baking low and slow.

The concept is cute. But makes for uneven baking ...
The concept is cute. But makes for uneven baking. The top part dips WAY down, so that is full of batter, while the bottom part, only holds a bit of batter. So cooking was uneven, and the cakes come out crumbly for some reason. (same recipe I have been using without problems)

For those "I don't know what cake I want" kind of birthdays
Made a very cute cake! Recommend using a baking nail in the middle of the top area of the pan however, or you may end up over-cooking the rest of it.

Smaller than I thought
Pan worked just like I thought it would...it was just a little smaller than I had imagined! Cute, though!

not bad
i love wilton pans. i bought this one and noticed that the bottom half of it (the square part) cooks faster than the rounded part. ended up burning the bottom half. i would suggest cooking on a lower setting. still havent had a perfect cake from this pan though :-(

Such a novel idea.
Makes a great change from the usual cake tin shapes.

Would recommend this if they love cupcakes
Great easy to use. Perfect for the job and great if the person loves cupcakes

Rubbish!
Just by the feel of it, you can tell it's not going to be very good. It's lightweight & has a plastic feel to it, not like other aluminium cake tins. I thoroughly greased the tin yet the cake stuck horrendously!!
