what is the diameter of the scope rings needed for this scope?

The 4.5 x 18 40mm absolutely has a 1" tube, NOT 30mm. I don't know why this information isn't provided, but I bought one, and it has a 1" tube.

This is made in South Korea, not China as previously stated by Severus.

Is the reticle illuminated?

Yes it is. It illuminates red on mine.

What kind of battery does this scope use?

Comes with a battery. Check it out when you get it. Also check the specs at Bushnell’s website.
