Much better than old style.
If you have oil heat, ask your oil service-person to install one of these. Just like getting an oil change on your car, but for your furnace. Spin on filters are available anywhere. If you do your own maintenance, get a few extra filters, and keep em clean.

Well worth the 5 mins to install this!
WAY better filter then the civil war era filters most people are using. Spin on filters do a much better job, better filtration, easier to change. Saves on maintenance on the oil burner down the road.

I should have this spin-on filter installed a long ago. It works way way better than the canister type in filtering the sludge and impurity in oil. Before this installation, my burner nozzle kept clogging and loss of heat was the norm. Now, this issue is no longer the problem. I put the canister filter at the tank and the spin-on the at burner.
