Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)

When I first heard I had to take this class, I had my doubts about this book and the new material that was added in comparison to the old book. Once I received the book it was not so bad. I enjoyed the illustration which were very detailed and it made the study material quite enjoyable in compare to other books. What I liked most about this book is all the information was straight and to the point. No unnecessary info required! All you need to know and great pictures that also helped me relate to my job, so I know exactly what they were talking about!!!! I would definitely recommend this book to any healthcare professional.

The right book. The right information. The right price. Clearly presented with regular testing to reinforce learning. And, a DVD to demonstrate procedures and machines with which you may not be familiar. For me, it was a very good review of practices I have been performing for the last 40 years with a few new little technological twists. The basics of life, however, haven't changed since time began: that baby has got to breathe.

Well-written how-to text for medical professionals involved in assessment and care of the newly born. Covers skills needed by a variety of providers and explains how each fits with another to provide the best outcome for the baby. Accompanying DVD shows delivery scenarios from simple to complex as well as video clips for equipment use. One of the more useful texts I've had in my career.

Simple, easy to follow, if you know where to look and what to focus on, will aid when taking the online test. CD accompaniment was useful as where the scenarios.

Whenever a new edition comes out, I like to purchase my own for constant review and referral during the years it is current. The DVD that comes with this book has helpful reenactments to help visualize the flow chart in most situations. As true in previous editions, the book is layed out in such a way to promote easy understanding and reinforcement. This edition definitely is worth buying due to the new changes. It's just not the same old same. Further, the time it took to get the book and the condition were both excellent.

I got certified in NRP years ago. I wanted to have my own book for it, just so that I can keep myself knowledgeable and review as necessary to still feel like it's fresh in my mind. This edition is nice, an easy read, and great to have around for review and reference. I encourage all to purchase if you want to feel more confident in your skills, or just want a book around for knowledge renewal.

Best NRP textbook yet. Has been improved in presentation, perhaps easier to understand than earlier versions. There have been a few changes in the medications, and a better discussion on the use of CPAP and PEEP pressures. Great for review or as a new skill set. If you are new to NRP get the book with the CD-ROM.

Excellent book that goes into the backround physiology of the newborn and why the resuscitation flowchart is what it is. Great resource for a topic that often gets underlooked.

Ottimo manuale per chi potrebbe trovarsi a dare assistenza ad un neonato al momento della nascita. In inglese ma chiaro e comprensibile, ripete più volte i concetti e dopo ogni sezione verifica con domande l'apprendimento. Utilissimo il CD con video che mostrano le diverse procedure. Utilissimo per un pediatra-neonatologo.

The book was very well laid out, and it corresponded well with the NRP megacode and exam requirements, setting you up to pass. The DVD was excellent in walking you through each step required for passing a megacode competency. I would recommend this to anyone about to complete NRP.
