SkechersMen's Go Walk Max Effort

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BUYING:
These are probably the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. They’re like walking on air BUT they have a major problem. When walking on smooth surfaces the bottoms stick to the ground causing one to fall forward. It happened to me. Luckily I was able to break the fall but my friends wife fractured her kneecap. After further research online I discovered that it’s happening to a lot of people. It won’t be long before Skechers realize they have a major problem and pull these shoes off the market.

Awesome shoe
I bought these for my husband who is not a "shoe guy". He tends to buy one pair of tennis shoes and, literally, wear them until they fall apart. I bought him these to keep back for nights out or places I didn't want him showing up with ragged shoes. He raved so much about them, and wanted to wear them to work (where he ruins his tennis shoes) so I bought him a second pair that he can wear daily. He said "these are like walking on clouds". This is a man who never comments on fit, cares nothing for fashion, and usually just buys the cheapest shoe he can find no matter how it feels on his foot. So for him to be instantly "in love" with these shoes and choosing them over "whatever is closest to the door" is huge. He wears a 10.5, I ordered a 10.5, and they fit like they were made for him so they are true to size.

BEST.WALKING.SHOE.EVER!!!
I ordered the Go Walk Max-53601 to be used as my primary walking shoe during a 4 week European trip. Europe, where so many roads are made of cobblestone and all that implies, requires a shoe that is tough and yet comfortable.Because of the material the uppers are made of, (mesh nylon - see photo) are made of, there was no break-in period necessary. They were very comfortable from Day 1.Our first day in Europe (Rome) and it was cobblestone city, as it would be everyday, over the next 28 days. I wore my Skechers every day and never had an issue with tired sore feet. I am just amazed at how good they are. These shoes are ideal if you spend a lot of time on your feet. The bottoms, with their unique weave design, (see photo), is the major reason for these shoes to be able to absorb the punishment that cobblestones can inflict on a regular basis.Well worth the costs and kept me from being miserable. A very good choice and i highly recommend them, hence the 5 star rating.

It's like walking on a trampoline.
I love how light these shoes are and how comfortable they are. The yoga mat soles have so much cushion to them, every step is like I'm walking on a trampoline. I can wear them for long periods of time, at events where I am walking miles at a time and at the end of the day, I don't feel sore. I also have plantar fasciitis and while it's not as bad as it use to be, these don't bring back those bad symptoms where it would hurt so bad that I need to roll my foot on a message log.

Comfortable for Extended Periods
I work twelve-hour shifts transporting patients at a hospital. On average, I walk 15 to 20 miles per shift. My feet were killing my wearing Nike "running shoes", so I decided to try these out. They're perfect. The soles are soft yet firm, the mesh breathes very well, and my feet feel absolutely fine at the end of my shifts. I'll definitely be buying another pair after these wear out.

I bought 2 pairs!
Everyone has different feet - this is what makes shoe buying (and shoe buying *online*) tricky. What works great for one person - maybe notsomuch for another and vice versa. I have bemoaned the death of the orginal Go Walk line - I understand they wore out faster, and customers don't like it when they wear out faster - but for me those shoes were a game-changer in terms of ending my foot/knee/back pain at the end of a long day working on a concrete floor. Ultra lightweight, flexible and cushioned... If I had a problem it's that the wimmen's wide widths were few, far between, and kind of a joke. I get it, as I said, everyone has different feet... but in order to get a wimmens shoe wide enough I would have to go up to a 9 and then I'm tripping over the toes because they're too long. Worth it because I could walk like a human being instead of hunched over and hobbling... eventually, I turned to men's shoes because some Go Walks could still be found and hey! a 6.5E fit perfectly... So. I purchased this shoe in a 7M because a 6.5E was not available, and I find they fit *perfectly*. Just absolutely perfect. I'm going to say that yes, based on that it's a narrower, smaller fit if you're normally into the E widths try half a size up - that worked for me. Grain of salt here... because as I opened with, everyone has different feet. And I'm a girl wearing men's shoes as small as I can get them because I'm not a delicate flower.

Great fitting comfortable lightweight walking shoe, but can be dangerous on certain surface types!
PRO's: Love this shoe! I replaced my old New Balance Men's 847V3 with a pair of these. First off these are the lightest walking shoes I've ever owned and the first pair of Sketchers. They fit great, are all black so I can wear them at work, and they are very comfortable.CON's: You need to be careful when walking in these on certain smooth surfaces like linoleum tiled floors you see in the hallways of many older office buildings. Smooth ceramic tile floors like you would find in a shopping mall are also an issue. For some reason the soles of these shoes DO NOT slide at ALL on these types of surfaces and this has caused me to trip and fall a half dozen times now. However this problem ONLY occurs on these type flooring surfaces. I think it's a combination of the ultra lightweight shoe coupled with the material the soles are made of which is causing this issue for me. My brain tells my rearward foot to pick up and move forward, however with my specific gate I ever so slightly drag the ball of my foot just enough that on these smooth surfaces the sole is so sticky it just locks to the floor which subsequently causes me to stumble. If I'm walking on any other types of surfaces this does not occur. I think this is because the sole doesn't get the same amount of traction as on the aforementioned surfaces and can actually slide that millimeter or two before my foot comes completely off the ground. I'm unable to use these shoes for mall walking or at work. Everywhere else though they are great.

Colour different to images, but otherwise all good
Its hard not to like Skechers - ultra lightweight, comfortable, fit true to size, not too narrow, look good, and seem well built, and a decent price - and these shoes meet all those criteria. A bonus for me is the insoles aren't their now preferred Memory Foam ones, which I detest. However, the one downside and its a reasonably large one is the website images appear to show a light grey shoe, and the shoes in person are a medium to dark grey. And before you say, "ah, its your phone/monitor" or whatever, I'm using a high quality monitor calibrated for photography!I had wanted a light grey, and while I am happy with the shoes supplied and am keeping them, I have to knock a star off my rating for the disparity in colour.

9 Months & 500 miles later...
Bought these at the beginning of March 2019, and have just retired them at the beginning of December.Have walked over 500 miles and the soles, although worn, still have a bit of life left in them, and am only retiring them as they are not the most weather proof of shoe, so something more sturdy needed for Autumn/Winter.These are so light and comfortable, with or without socks, I have never had an uncomfortable walk. And although the upper is just material, they have been incredibly sturdy and hard wearing, ( i personally thought this would have torn but held up very well). So I shall be buying (hopfefully) again next march for another 500 mile haul.Highly recommended ..

Fantastic walking casual trainers.
Don’t know where to start. I hadn’t heard of Sketchers until last Friday 3/8. 2 people were wearing them at work and thought I’d check them out. I bought a pair and they arrived today, 6/8. They fit perfectly and are light in weight. They’re a fantastic colour and incredibly compfortable. Come pay day, I’ll be ordering another pair in a different colour. Highly recommended.

Great value, lasting longer than expected.
Wanted some comfy shoes for work, but didn’t want to spend a fortune. These have exceeded all my expectations, not only are they extremely comfortable and light, they are also lasting really well under daily use.Initially I thought they felt too light and would get damaged quickly, but they’ve resisted a number of knocks and bumps. The sole feels extremely soft, making walking a pleasure, but I was convinced that being so soft it would wear out quickly... except that it hasn’t.The mesh lets in air and keeps your feet cool. It will also let in water easily though, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone... it’s mesh! It’s fine walking in the rain for short periods, just be sure to not step in any puddles!Overall, extremely comfortable for the price and so far lasting better than expected.
