Since the reviews on this are contrasting i decided to try to see why. Once installed this case is effective and convenient in many ways. Installation is so difficult and the instructions so inadequate it is possible that some may never get it on right. It requires considerable hand strength and much fiddling with it to make it work. So, here is an effort to help with this. The case is separated from the top down to the middle, which is two top corners and two side attachments around the middle. after that, slide the tablet in from the top and put it back together. all this is difficult. At the top corners, bend the silicon outward and back. You will see that there is a thick part and a thin membrane. Keep this in mind, for the thin parts on reassembly goes between the tablet and the back, but the thick part goes on the outside corner. Get down on the sides and separate those two attachments also, the one on the right is where the buttons are. On reassembly, after the tablet is put in place by sliding it in from the top, work the silicon back in position. this is troublesome due to the thin parts which go between the tablet and the back, and the thick parts which go on the outside. i reassembled mine only to discover that something was not right with the buttons and had to keep fiddling with it to get the various parts in right.; when it is in correctly the buttons work quite well and are not difficult to operate, making a slight clicking sound when engaged.; good luck with it. get help with a strong handed person if it seems more than you can handle.

I have wonky hands and drop things, so a protective case is essential for phones and tablets. My old tablet did not survive its last descent even with its protective folio case, so this "otterbox" style case was my go to when I bought a new tablet. Note that Otterbox does NOT make one compatible with Galaxy Tab A 8 inch tablets, but this is a fine substitute. The strap and swiveling kickstand are well thought out and look like they will last well even under the abuse I (involuntarily) dish out.

I've been using this for a couple of months now. It fits the tablet perfectly. I didn't think it was all that complicated to install, you just need to stop and think about it for a minute. It is a very snug (secure) fit so it does install tightly. The strap is great for attaching to things when I do virtual recordings as well as holding while I read an ebook on a walk. The access flaps for the headphone and power cord are big enough that they don't interfere with the cords. Well designed, and worth the price.

Lower quality than the other case I got for my daughter's same exact tablet. The plastic that goes around the tablet and front seems to be weak and thin. The silicone/rubber frame makes it more bulky than my daughter's. The hand strap is a great idea for my son who I worry about carrying it around, but the rotating kickstand is poorly done. Cheaply made, which causes it to rotate way too easily. Because of the bulkiness and how easily it rotates and slippery feel to the rubber, it doesn't feel safe to have the kickstand open in the portrait mode. Disappointed with this one.Pay the extra few bucks and get a more slimmed down version. The bulky soft rubber isn't going to help with drop protection the way some of the other kinds with firmer slimmer rubber and plastic casings.My suggestion is buy a few different kinds cases. Try them all on the tablet, keep the best one and send the rest back. I am certain this would have been on the send back box.

Works fine, not fancy.Sometimes the off button is hard to use on the case, and I had to remove it to turn the unit off. This is because the rubber buttons are a little soft on the case.

Great case for my 8" Samsung Galaxy Tap A. Other reviews mention different levels of difficulty putting the silicone part of the case on, and it is a tight fit...you just have to take it easy and work it onto the tablet. The Galaxy is very thin and hard to hold, and the SM-T290 case gives you something to hold on to without getting your thumbs on the screen. I have the hand strap adjusted to my hand, but most of the time I just hold onto the strap rather than put my hand through it. If you have short fingers this case makes it easy to hold the tablet in one hand.

I love this case. This is the second one I've bought. First one my son threw his tablet out car window. And this case did its job not even a scratch on the tablet. It didnt even break apart. I highly recommend this product.

The only thing that I have to get used to is that it's not so easy to swipe down with the case on (to check those little icons at the very top). It's a great fit otherwise and MUCH easier to handle and use my tablet. I got just what I wanted. Thanks!

Vaya que ha aguantado catorrazos esta funda y puedo confirmar que cumple su cometido: protege la tablet en todos sentidos, la pantalla, y todo el aparato en general. Lo único que ya no resistió de la funda fue la partesita que se levanta para que se sostenga sola. Pero eso es por el mismo manejo que le ha dado mi hijo.Eso si, no esperen que si cae de un 2o piso aguantará, las caídas que ha tenido son de las manos al piso y han sido varias, pero sigue de pie. 🥳 Definitivamente cuando sea necesario reemplazarla lo haré por esta misma.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Muy recomendable.
