Tuff Stuff 7068 Alternator (100 Amp 1 Wire V-Groove)

I have used this brand alternator in other vehicles with great success. Overall they are a great value with excellent quality. This particular alternator #7068 Ford 1 wire alternator does NOT fit a Ford 390 engine. I have a 1968 Ford F250 with a 390. Another reviewer stated it does but obviously they must think they have a 390. I contacted Tuff Stuff technical support and they clearly stated they DO NOT make an alternator that fits an FE engine at this time. He even mentioned that in the catalog it even states this. The rear housing for the bearing does not clear the head in the stock location. I'm sure if you change the belt configuration and mounting brackets you could get it in there but that's more trouble than what its worth. I would suggest getting an alternator from a 1994-1999 FORD Taurus / Mercury Sable. You get high amp output and it fits (tight). Just change the pulley. In any other application I would recommend this company's products. Great quality, value, and excellent technical support/customer service.

This item was a perfect fit for my 1972 Ford Gran Torino. It was easy to install and great quality for a reasonable price.

I am very happy about the alternator, looks great, I will in stall it in the summer months, the only problem with it was the shipping, was when I received it the box had a hole in from bouncing around in the box, not to good for the alternator, I hope its not broken when I install it , please pack it more before shipping, thanks.
