Is it a durable item ?

It is very durable. I bought it to change the oil on my houseboat and performed as advertised. I would recommend this product!

Does the kit come with 1" garden hose adapter?

Thanks for writing. This item does not ship from the factory with the garden hose adapter. It is compatible with a 1/2 inch garden hose adapter available from your local hardware store.

Will it work on my 2009 pontiac g8 gt l76 engine?

Hello James, Yes, the Porta Quick Oil change system can work on all engines. Please make sure the engine oil is hot and you can use the small hose to go into the dip stick tube. Regards, Xylem.

is this the exact unit as pictured?

It's not the same as pictured (eg - missing reverse switch) according to this post: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1KL351B5CBUKL/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B000O8F562
