Anastasia - The Mystery of Anna

Intriguing even if Amazon's synopsises are somewhat inaccurate.
Movie's Part 1 was accurate-mostly-except its title card for its first Berlin scene should've been "1920" as its opening year-but your website's online synopsis needs better, ex. "...the last daughter of Russia's last czar, Nicholas II" and not the vague "a child of a Russian czar ("czar" needs needs only small "c")" as who Anna Anderson claimed herself as until her death (1984). Part 2 the same except its ending narrator needed "1938" as when her trial started in Germany while Amazon's online synopsis needed to say "Anna (not 'Anastasia' as its first word) continues her claim of Romanov heritage by traveling to America's branch of the exiled family in 1928" or "Anna continues her royalty claims by traveling to America's branch of Romanov emigres in 1928 and afterwards to Germany in the 1930s for eventual court enforced recognition as such".

Wonderful!
I love history and I was ALWAYS fascinated by Anastasia and her family. Her life broke my heart. I just can't fathom to think how those monsters could shoot kids. But anyways, I ENJOYED and LOVED this movie. Even I was hoping this Anna Anderson was truly Anastasia, I always wished at least someone had survived that horrible shooting.Anyways wonderful WONDERFUL movie. The actress who played Anna was wonderful. This movie is so good. I recommend it to anyone ESPECIALLY to those who love history and were interested in this time about the Czar and his family.

Great Movie!
I just watched this on TV the other night and decided I "needed" it for my DVD collection. This movie will make you believe that Anna Anderson was, in fact, Anastasia Romanov. However, recent DNA evidence has proven that Anna Anderson was not a Romanov. In any case the acting is superb and the costuming is beautiful. It's a great story all by itself whether or not it was based on truth. It's right up there with Sidney Sheldon's "The Other Side of Midnight" and Danielle Steel's "Crossings".

good, but
The acting by all the cast is excellent. I enjoyed the settings, and period fashions enormously, but the amazing talents who were playing the parts of the King and Queen, and Queen mother, etc., were underused. The story seemed somehow incomplete. The ending is really rushed, and left me wondering why she suddenly was not interesting enough to follow up on what her life was like after the ... well, I won't say because it would be spoilers for those not familiar with this true story at all. Just think this could have been better, but it is worth watching for all the many talented actors involved. If you are looking for a history lesson, well it seemed generally factual.

The woman who claimed to be Anastasia
This is a more accurate portrayal than the Ingrid Bergman film, based on a book by an author who believed she was the real thing. It was made about two years after her death, and before any of the DNA evidence had come to light. It's certainly worth watching.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE
I had seen this movie on cable on the History Channel I believe yrs ago and had a time trying to find it. All I could ever find was the animated version. Finally I found the real version on Amazon, purchased it and have enjoyed knowing that when ever i want to see it i can, as I have never been able to find it on TV again. Amy Irving is great in this.

Great TV MiniSeries
I grew up watching Anastasia with a very young Christian Bale and an all-star cast including Rex Harrison. It is based on the story of Anna Anderson whom we now know was a fraud but at the time of the filming it was still undetermined. Beautiful sets, gorgeous costumes, great acting, big Hollywood names, and you have the classic t.v. miniseries. Enjoy!

Very enjoyable !
Remember watching this when it was on to and really enjoyed it. Wanted to see it again. Amy Irving was very good in it.

ochentera y delavazada

Anastasia….the Russian……
….Princess mystery.Based on real historical events.A young woman with mental health problems seems to know more detail about the lives of the Romanovs, who were assassinated during the revolution in Russia around the time of World War One.She seems to be Anastasia, the youngest daughter, but is she, and how could she have survived? She is prevented from seeing her potential Grandmother in person, who dies before the young woman is invited to meet with her.Historically fascinating. The Romanovs’ execution/murder hortific, and within almost touchable history now.

Anastasia - the mistery of Anna

I HSTORICAL TRADJEDY
THE FACTS ARE SOMEWHAT COFUSING ANNA ANDERSON DIED KNOWING A LOT FROM THE RUSSIAN IMPERIAL COURT HER BODY WAS CREMATED SO NO DNA THERE, THE DNA THAT WAS OBTAINED CAME FROM A US HOSPITAL WHERE PERHAPS ANDERSON HAD BEEN TREATED SOME YEARS EARLIER EVEN IN PRESENT DAY RUSSIA THERE IS MUCH CONFUSION OVER THE ROMANOV REMAINS WHICH HAVE BEEN VERIFIED AND REBURIED IN THE FORTRESS OF ST PETER AND PAUL IN ST PETERSBURG, HOWEVER EVEN THE RUSSIANS DISPUTED WERE THE REMAINS OF ANASTASIS OR OF MARIA THAT IS STILL AN OPEN POINT, SO THIS EXCELLENT FILM WICH VERY WELL ACTED ESPECIALLY AMY IRVINGS PART, STILL LEAVES SOME VERY OPEN QUSTIONS ONE CAN ONLY WISH THOSE POOR MURDERED ROMANOVS PEACE

bon produit
