Does this backpack fit a binder?

Yes. I've fit my mac in the inside pocket as well as other stuff. Its pretty roomie

Where is this made in, and is it suitable for a rising 2nd grader?

Good Material. My son used it for 1st and 2nd grade

Is this too big for a 5 year old? Thanks!

it was the perfect size for my 7 year old last year in 2nd grade. He still loves it and wants to use it again this year. I think it probably would have worked at 5 as well.
