Wired Android Auto Driving You Crazy?
This will at least make it easier to disconnect and reconnect. A quick flip of the switch works every time.

Almost exactly what I wanted
I was looking for just a simple switch adapter with no extra cable, but I didn't find that, so I purchased this one because it was short enough to not be in the way. I need sound operating on my computer at all times, but do not want to wear a headset unless I'm in a meeting. I got tired of trying to find the little USB transmitter for my headset and scrambling to get it plugged in to answer an incoming call. I didn't know if what I wanted even existed, but a quick search turned up items such as this one. Just about perfect. Now I can simply turn it on when I want to use the headset and turn it off when I don't. Quick and easy. I would prefer a cableless adapter that just sits in the port, because I have to position this one just so to keep the switch accessible and yet out of the way, which I did by plugging it into the docking station at the back, but then that might be easily bent or dislodged so maybe this is the best overall solution. I'm happy.

Perfect Solution for Android Auto
Pair this switch with a wireless android auto/apple car play receiver and you have yourself a great wireless solution. When the car is shut off, the Jeep JL Rubicon doesn't shut off power immediately to the USB's that receive signal to send to the screen. So you need the switch to shut off the power to the wireless receiver or else your phone will continue to attempt to connect to the wireless receiver when you're in range.

Will serve quite well for switching on/off USB 2.0 Loads like lights, fans, and thumb drive logic
This is what people think of when they think a USB switch. Not one of the other cheaper designs that simply “disconnect” the data but leave your device powered on. If you kill power to any USB it will either turn it off when you want it too like a fan or lights some thing of that type or kill power to vulnerable device like thumb drives, phones, and fitness watches which renders them inert if the USB and/or mass storage logic is not powered on. That’s what I and other people like me wanted and that’s what we got. Not really paranoid about data exfiltration, but rather a virus crippling our thermostat after it spread from a thumb drive, what a pain in the ass 😄 But on a practical note you can use these to control power to plugged in phones etc in a USB-C battery bank with USB-C 28 watt (realistically a good solid 12 - 15) watt solar charger array like you might get from a car charger as these switches are rated for USB 2.0 at 2.4 Amps. Wish they had a micro 2.4 amp replaceable fuse inline with a switch as I have had a USB device short in a car and it popped the mini fuse in my car which was a bit concerning. If a mini fuse was in line with this switch plugged into the cars USB it would have prevented that, and perhaps may in the future with my solar setup depending on how “smart” the battery bank I chose was to detect an overload, but if not a mini fuse would be a really nice feature addition without the addition of to much more size. Not sure how hot this thing would get if you had a short like I did which is concerning.

Works with mice
This switch DOES work for data, not just charging but will it work with your device? That depends on the device. I am using it to connect/disconnect a USB mouse and it works great for that. Fortunately it doesn't cost much so you can get one and try it with your device.I'm guessing that if you are trying to connect something that is self powered like a phone, tablet, or other computer it probably won't disconnect properly when off. Remember, ONLY the power line is switched. But KB, mice, and other stuff powered through the USB should work. You have to try it to know. The build is ok. It's plastic which is what you expect for this price. Nothing bad about it but not high end materials. I assume you weren't really expecting chrome and glass for this price.Bottom line: It was inexpensive and does the job I got it for without any problems.

Solid Switch
Disclaimer: I only use this switch for power, not data.I bought this switch to toggle power to some decorative lights inside my computer case. The cable and button housing is solid. The rocker button action is nice, with a satisfying click.Note for computer modders:I drilled a hole in the back of my computer case and hot glued it from the inside to affix it. I know this switch is not intended to be mounted, but its worth noting for anyone else looking to mount this that the housing is slightly curved on the front face where the button is. It wont be 100% flush with your mounting surface.

Could Be Better
If the manufacturer had just done a couple of small things, this would have been a much better product.I bought the switch so I could turn the new webcam that I purchased on and off. Without the switch, the webcam would have been always on.The first problem is that the cable between the switch and the male USB connector is too short. In my setup, the switch would have ended up behind the computer. I would have had to get up, walk around the desk and reach behind the computer every time I wanted to turn the webcam on or off. A longer cord would have allowed the switch to be placed in a useful location further away from the USB receptacle. I had to buy a USB extension cord to resolve the problem.Second, the switch needs an LED to tell you whether it is on or off. Without it, there’s no way to know if the webcam is still on. The LED would have served as a reminder that I need to switch off the webcam after I was done using it. I had to buy a USB "Y" cable and a USB LED so I could know if the webcam was still on.I would have gladly paid a dollar more for a longer cord and an LED.
