I am Asian and we eat rice regularly. We usually buy rice at Asian supermarket but due to the COVIT, we bought this from Amazon. This is the worst quality rice I ever seen. We bought 8 boxes and they are all the same. Check my pictures. Red rice in a bag is the good one from another company. White rice, right side is a good one from other company. Black one is the worst which I currently don't have the good sample to compare but all rice lover can tell these are bad rice. The fresh rice should have a smooth surface like you can see on the Red and White rice.

Well, this was a disappointment, I have been a fan of the brand for a while and have purchased it at grocery stores many times in the past.I opted to purchase from Amazon and I found the product to fail the taste test, I was a little dumbfounded as this is consistently a good product so I verified my suspicions by purchasing from the grocery store to compare.I've included pictures, the left if from Amazon, the right is from Publix. There is an obvious difference in the appearance of the rice in these containers.Both were opened at the same time, for control and cooked in the same manner side by side.Amazon purchased product is:Different in appearanceTexture is dryConsistency is not sticky (both are rinsed in cold water priory to cooking)The grain itself is smallerI've heard some rice on Amazon may not be what it is advertised as and this may be the situation here. Oddly, both containers have the same lot number and useby date.I will revert to purchasing from the grocery store as the product was no where near the correct quality.

I have loved this particular brown rice. It is delicious. Smells good while cooking. And cooks up beautifully fluffy every time. But this recent batch has BUGS. I am so grossed out. We ate some already for a previous meal. Tonight as I was bringing the pot to boil I noticed two dark things floating on the top. I scooped them out. Oh my gosh. Bugs! About 1/8" long. I'm so disappointed. Again, this is delicious rice and I was so happy to have my four new jars. We are big brown rice lovers. But I'm not eating this batch.I've never found bugs before.

I have brown rice. I have Basmati rice. I love this rice brand. I mad a batch of this rice and it was horrible. Smelled plasticky and like rancid oil. I found that rice should not have a strong smell otherwise it can be rancid. I believe this was rancid. Perhaps it came from a place that did not store it correctly. Or maybe it is just ME. But in all my 65 years of living I never had to throw out a batch of rice, but I did with this. I feel sorry for the seller. They should talk to their supplier. The product was not out of date and should have been fine. I even tried to cover the flavor with lots of onion and curry and could still not choke it down.

This brand is the clear standard in supermarkets across the USA for a very good Arborio rice for Risotto. As a highly experienced Home and Personal Chef, this is a mainstay in my kitchen. Easy to use, and with great flavor by itself, it is just about as perfect as it can get.The super-value price for this 4-count set on Amazon is a great money saver that can't be beat! I will continue to order this from Amazon as necessary and can honestly rate it with a strong FIVE STARS, along with my hearty recommendation. If you have never made Risotto, it's time you tried, and this is the rice to do it with!! Bon Appetit!

I positively love the taste & texture of this rice blend. Have been using it for years and the RiceSelect brand is the only rice i will buy. I find this blend goes extremely well with most meats & especially with most all white fish & seafood. From much experience for the best fluffiness rice do not skip on the "rest" time after fully cooked, i wait a minimum of 15 minutes or more (not 10 as per the directions), and do not stir or disturb while cooking. You can also experiment with 'slightly' less water. For extra added flavor i use a 50/50 mix of water & chicken stock. Super Yummy! My #1 Uno white rice is the RiceSelect "Texmati" white rice. Again it is the only white rice i will eat. Just open the lid and smell the aroma and you will be 'hooked' & when you cook it you will agree it's the best tasting white rice available. Goes fantastic with Salmon or with any recipe that calls for white rice. Also an honorable mention goes to the RiceSelect Jasmine rice. Great texture, aroma & flavor (although i personally prefer the Texamti). Read all the other Five Star reviews... and believe them. They are correct. And discount the few dissenting voices that know not how to cook rice or have no pallet. RiceSelect Jasmati Rice is light and non-sticky. It has a nice aroma which is not quite as strong as the popcorn aroma of Jasmine rice. It comes in a clear BPA free container which makes it easy to use and store.One serving size of ¼ cup, which when cooked makes ¾ cup, contains only 160 calories as well as 3 grams of protein.I make this rice in a fuzzy logic rice cooker and it turns our beautifully. Leftovers also heat up nicely with a minute in the microwave. The rice is very light and ideal for a variety of recipes.
