Does this require painting? Approximately how many hours should it take an adult to put this together?

Nope, no painting. The clear plastics that you see in the picture are for being able to see the internals move during its battery operated cycle. Takes a couple hours to assemble with the separation of parts since it’s multiple pieces formed/poured in one molding. But it’s multiple moldings. It doesn’t take much effort. My main recommendation is having a pocketknife or a utility knife handy to clean up the ear like sections on the pieces after removing from the molds for smooth operation.
