Great !!
This book does not condemn or support National socialism or its Occult Branches- but rather it is an Academic study, an Amazing one. It would be a good introduction for Miguel Serrano, and it contains many sources and references!!!

An Exhaistive Study
Truly an exhaustive study of the subject. I cannot envision any other book on the subject supplanting this one. Even handed and honest in all it's aspects. A real work of scholarship. Full of leads to other books and sources. Top notch work.

Racist fantasy or Aryan destiny?
A long-awaited English translation and review of nearly all available texts bearing on the symbolism of the Black Sun as associated with European/Aryan mysticism. Special biographical and bibliographical attention is given to the primary personalities behind the modern concept. Part pseudo-astronomy, part science-fiction, part myth-making. Not the stuff of many modern "Nazi occult" novels, but an academic treatment and examination of original source materials dating from ancient times through Theosophy and eventually taking shape in the 20th century development of an alternative National Socialist (i.e. white racial) religion. The Black Sun may be viewed as the Ur-gesetz, the universal primal godhead, and the often heady belief in a cosmic astrological influence shaping world destiny. Chapters range from translations of the texts from such figures as Peryt Shou and Miguel Serrano to identification and acknowledgement of the early/popular appearance of Black Sun symbolism in art and literature from around the globe. Perhaps nothing short of an original God-concept embraced with fanaticism by a rebellious element of the world's white population challenging the mainstream current of globalism and modernity. Practically every source relegated to a footnote in other popular examinations of the subject is presented here in chronological context and tediously examined for its part in carrying the myth to its current status as one of the most sinister belief-systems threatening the global establishment.

A good book but not really original: it has predecessors
The book was lent to me for reading since a friend knew I read books on that matter. I must confess, though interesting, this book was fueled by the remarkable and recent book "Nazi Secrets; A Breach in the Fabrix of History", from which most ideas were "borrowed", especially as to the origin of this myth: its beginning in the 90s, identification between the sun wheel inlay at Wewelsburg castle with the older Black Sun mythos etc.

The Black Sun is a planetary entity. NOT an esoteric myth. The Hidden one: AMEN
All those scary symbols we were told meant the “Devil” are really planetary entities. The Swastika does not symbolize "N@zis", it's the vortex of the N and S torroid fields. That's why it is covered in 2 directions. The Black Sun is NOT an "esoteric myth".It is not only an actual celestial entity, it is the most important. The Father/Amen.Religion IS allegorical astrotheology. The surface level characters represent planetary entities at the encoded level.

The First Thorough Multi-disciplinary Analyis of Die Schwarze Sonne
I have just spent the last two or three weeks reading and studying the recently released The Black Sun Unveiled by James Pontolillo[ 2013]. This is a huge tome consisting of 792 pages and 65 chapters with five appendices! Pontolillo does a splendid job of unearthing the origins of the Schwarze Sonne mythos and in doing so he delves into the fields of mediaeval alchemy, nineteenth and twentieth century literature, including science fiction before he gets to the most interesting [for me] parts of the book. The second part of the book consists of rare ariosophical and armanist works translated into English, many for the first time it would seem along with an exploration of how the symbolism of the Black Sun has penetrated the folkish music scene and contemporary fiction.Examples of important works include the complete Das Mysterium der Zentralsonne by Peryt Shou[1912], an extremely difficult work to understand [in German or English!] and translated excerpts of works by H.P. Blavatsky, Karl Maria Wiligut, Emil Ruediger, Erich Halik, Wilhelm Landig, Rudolf J. Mund, Savitri Devi, Miguel Serrano, Robert Charroux, Jean-Michel Angebert, James Madole, the Tempelhofgesellschaft, Order of the Nine Angles, Norbert Juergen Ratthofer, Ralph Ettl, Gerhard Hess, Jan van Helsing and many others. The book is littered with nicely produced black and white photographs and illustrations. Throughout the various translated works Pontolillo has added copious footnotes. These tend to be rather repetitive if you read the book from cover to cover as I have done but may be very useful if you read just selected chapters of greater interest to you or if you delve into the book piecemeal in which case the repetition is very useful. At the end of each chapter there is a very useful reference page of relevant source books. The opening chapter is 67 pages long and is devoted to discussing the relationship between Heinrich Himmler, the Schwarze Sonne, Schloss Wewelsburg and SS occultism in which the author seeks to dispel many inaccuracies concerning these subjects perpetuated by more sensationalist authors. This is a scholarly work and the only one of its kind so I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone interested in the subject of the Black Sun, armanism or ariosophy.

Exhaustive... excellent resource.
Just had no idea what an absolute TOME this would be when it arrived. If you've ever wondered about this intriguing symbol then this book contains almost everything written about it from the past until today.Honestly, if you're on this page and reading reviews just buy the thing immediately so you can own a copy and hold onto it and preserve the knowledge post-purge/collapse.
