Coaching with Heart: Taoist Wisdom to Inspire, Empower, and Lead in Sports & Life

I've always had an interest in Taoist philosophy. Now, I am assuming more of a leadership role in my office, and I was thrilled to see a book that looks at Taoist ideals through this lens. That said, Jerry Lynch has the most wonderful way of conveying his powerful thoughts. This book was such an easy read. But I found my world being rocked with almost every chapter. I know I will reread this many times. I look forward to checking out other books by Lynch.

I'm an ex-player who has done some coaching with kids in the past and would say that coaches today spend 90% of their time trying to explain the "how-to" with physical skills without ever approaching the mental and spiritual aspects of mentoring their players. I would strongly recommend all coaches read this book. I'm developing a mentoring tool for coaches to assist their young players and reading this book will be a requirement. The term "Life Changing" is an oft over-used term but this book will come as close to changing how you view coaching than any other book you will read.

Good solid book on thoughts on building a solid team.

This is a book that will introduce thoughts that a volunteer coach may not think is part of coaching our youth.

One of the most helpful books I have read about coaching. Perhaps I read it at the right time of my career but many of the idea's in this book strongly resonated with me.

A must read for every coach.

As someone who has read "The Way of the Champion", I had very high expectations for what this book would be about and what it would cover. It gives you a fresh outlook on coaching as it will explain the ups and downs, as well as even helping you to not only become a better coach, but a better person overall. Get both books if you ask me, and anything else this incredible man writes after that.
