As the weather got colder this year, my wife complained about actually feeling a draft from a light switch close to an outside door in our house. I initially assumed this was going to be a draft from the door itself, but when I went to check I found that sure enough it was in fact a draft coming from the light switch. Apparently many folks are aware of this, but this was a first for me! Apparently I've been lucky enough to live in homes where this was never an issue before.I did some reading, found these Frost King Outlet Sealers and ordered enough to use for every outlet and light switch that on outside walls of the house. As I started installing them I found that they make a huge difference. You actually completely stop feeling any sort of draft or a cold ambiance around those outlets/switches that are not well insulated. I found that I had a good dozen such locations where I had to install them.If you do some online reading, you'll see that not only is this very common, but also contributes to a big difference in heating costs during the cold season. It's just shot of having a hole straight through the wall in some cases depending on siding.For the pennies this costs per outlet, I would highly recommend checking your own home and if you find any drafty electrical boxes, it will make a huge difference.

I recently swapped out my regular outlets and switches for the "decora" style plates which all use a rectangular opening rather than the traditional two openings on a regular AC outlet. I had previously used this same product but the version for the regular outlets. These work just the same way, fitting between the cover plate and the outlet. These don't seem to be quite as precise though, probably because you just have the larger outer rectangle to work with rather than having the two outlets to keep the sealer more centered. These definitely help insulate your outlets on outer walls of your house from drafts. The only downside is you will feel like you are throwing half what you paid for away because you have to punch out the center section of each one, and with the rectangular outlets this ends up being a good percentage of the overall material.

This was used throughout entire house. I live in a historic home from 1920 so the wall have no insulation. Recently remodeled the living room and dining room. When I re-did the electrical I had to patch in dryway into the lath and plaster even though I made it as tight as possible and it looks great when the central heat or air conditioner comes on all the outlets and switches has a small breeze blowing through. These Frost King RS6H Rectangular Outlet Sealers seem to completely stopped all drafts from electrical outlets and light switches. I rate this 5 stars as it does what it advertises and it's a simple cheap fix to help save money on energy costs. I plan on buying more soon.SHIPPINGA++

Glad I found these. Was surprised by how much of a draft can actually come from the electrical outlets.Since I've installed these throughout the house, no draft comes through the outlets and I feel I'm saving a little more on my energy bills.

Good insulators. The one issue is that the screw holes on either side are not fully cut through. This means when removing them you may have to cut them out. Be sure to check local prices!

These were easy enough to put in and do a fairly decent job of keeping drafts out. They're definitely worth the cost.

Used these to insulate my light & power outlets. Fit perfectly hope these help with insulation and stop the air flow thus preventing heat loss during winters.
