I wanted something without a remote because I did not want to waste batteries by having candles in standby mode. It's hard to find them now. Was happy to find these.These are great, but I have them in my fireplace with a timer and you can't see that they are not made of wax.Timer works great. A month in and batteries are still going.They have a screw-off bottom to get to the timer and batteries. And the on/off. Which can be a painif you do not use the timer.

Nice candles. Take a lot of abuse and still work well. Waterproofing is great.

Very pleased with these candles so far. the entire candle glows a bright warm ivory. Timers have been working well on first set of batteries for a month & maintaining brightness. Aftering reading reviews about rain getting inside from the opening around the faux flame I sealed the space with clear silicone caulk because mine are exposed. It shouldn’t be an issue for candles displayed in lanterns where the top of the lantern is solid. I will add photos when I post an update on battery life and water resistance. The bottom twists off to expose the battery box and timer switch. The seal line is a fraction of an inch above the bottom so holds up against rain dripping down the sides or being placed on wet surfaces that drain well. Sitting in water that puddles above the seal line is probably not advisable. If you want an indoor candle or outdoor candle that looks like a real candle invest in the new Luminara 1000hr brand for six times the price. If you want super affordable candlelight for outdoor decorating use these. Great in window wreaths and nestled into planters and Chistnas trees.Update on battery life: Batteries last 8 + months on timer with same brightness as when first refreshed. At 10 months they are just beginning to dim a little but not enough to want to change them yet.

These fake candles look great on a corner shelf.

I should've gotten the ones with the remote. But they do have a timer option. The only thing is they have a screw on cap at the bottom and you have to remove the cap to turn them on and off. They work fine. Just didn't think it through. I'll keep them, though.

These are very nice outdoor candles. They don't flicker very much but are lit bright and realistic from a distance. I ordered OTHER outdoor candles from another seller/maker and they don't appear that they will be weather proof as they are open at the top for rain to enter the interior and have some real wax (gets up to 110 degrees my summers). VERY HAPPY WITH THESE! WEATHER PROOF, PRETTY, TIMER WORKS!!! I WILL ORDER MORE! Wish they came in larger sizes as well.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a great deal, but we have had these 'candles' for 6 months, coming on for 6hrs every night....~1080 hrs and only one 'candle' needed battery replacement, several days ago...others still illuminating as advertised. We live in So. Calif and have them in our gazebo...admittedly, not the inclement weather other parts of the country may experience. However, we did receive more rain than usual this past season [winter] and one of the candles, which is on a railing, filled with water in the area where the 'flame' is situated. Fairly certain it had been that way for a week. I emptied it, wiped it, inspected the interior and the light was on that evening as I suspect it had done during the rain...no leakage at all. The 'flame' flickers, there is no wax to melt in the heat and they've lasted 6months [minimum] with 1st set of [AA] batteries. Really delighted with them....to the degree of planning to order 2-3 more sets to put along pathway to the gazebo, where solar LED garden lights...which are fine for about an hour, then fade...aren't lasting as I'd hoped. These should since they've been so reliable in the gazebo.

I used these candles for a candle lighting for my brother that passed away and it was the greatest idea ever it was perfect because it was raining that day and I didn’t have to worry about these like an actual candle I would worry about the fire going out. Simple and easy to use love the timers too !

I kept them because they work fine and I need them right now, but disappointed that one is a different colour light than the other two. Two are bright and one is warm. The small one is more of an orange light where the other two are light yellow.
