This sharpener is easy to use, and does a wonderful job on my knives. They are now sharp for the first time in years. I almost bought a new set, but decided to try this sharpener first and am so glad I did! A quality knife set is very expensive. Just a few quick strokes with this baby and I'm slicing and chopping like a professional chef!

This works great. All my scissors ( I quilt) and knives are now sharp with with very little work. Even the ones that I thought were beyond help. Well worth the money. Very glad I bought it.

Excellent sharpener, both for knives and for scissors. The rough slot is great for bringing neglected, dull knives back up to speed. The fine slot alone does the job on regularly sharpened knives.The grip is good, and your fingers are safely away from the knife's edge. The underside of the sharpener is rubberized, and does not slip while you pull the knife through. The sharpener looks good and is compact enough that we keep it on the counter, next to our knives block.If I were to change anything, I'd turn the scissors slot 90 degrees, to minimize the chance that scissors would jump and cut my hand when leaving the slot.

I bought this product for one reason: I had several pair of scissors that were dull and needed sharpening. I was tired of buying a new pair of scissors every time the original pair dulled to the point of non-usability. This contraption is not hard to use, and the price is low, but what I did not know is that the instructions would be minimal and as a result, though my blades were sharpened, they were also chipped and damaged on the blade toward the, ahem, fulcrum of the instrument. Now I am certain that with time and practice I will figure out how to use this tool without causing damage to my scissors, but out of the box it is less than perfect unless you already know what you are doing. And that is why it only got three stars.

Using this sharpener has been very easy. I've used it many times now, and am always surprised by how well my knives cut after honing or sharpening. I've used them to remove small chips/dents in my blade (the rough stone), and I've used it for simple honing (the fine stone). Most of the time, you just need to use the fine stone. You only need to use the rough stone to remove chips/dents.I've also used the scissor sharpener to sharpen my kitchen shears, and was equally surprised by the improvement it made. I didn't even think I would use this feature of the product.I know that some people may think a honing steel is the best, but this is so simple and easy to use, and has proven to be very effective for me.

I bought this knife sharpener a few months ago and barely used it. In fact, I only used it to sharpen my scissors because my knife was new as well. I tried sharpening my knife last night and noticed the fine knife sharpener was broken. I’m not sure if it arrived this way, but this is the first time trying to use that section. It’s already broken. I’m definitely disappointed because this knife sharpener had a lot of good reviews.

Very easy to use, simple, for left or right hand. I used to sell this item for Ares Cuisine store. True, not good for dull knives. By the way, better use a wood or plastic cutting board for your knives, just saying.Enjoy!!!

It's easy to hold and use. It won't sharpen dull knives. It's designed to keep an edge on already sharp knives as you use them. Using this sharpener periodically on your knives will keep them sharp.
