Elementary Algebra

I've been away from school for +20 yrs and working in a technical field. The young engineers are freshly schooled and I had forgotten the order of operations. This book will take you from simple math up in easy to follow steps. Wish I had something like this in my college days. Plus the book is free. I've only picked up an a few errors. The math is simple and challenging all at the same time. They warm you up with basic problems, then smack you with knowledge if you fail to pay attention to the negative signs. The authors really create math problems that require you to pay attention to details, plus add real life problems. The only issue to date is their failure to show how units cancel. Maybe in the engineering book? Great effort!! Thanks

This book is being sold as 2 volumes but only volume 1 (chapters 1-5) was received.

Pretty good book, makes it simple but the answer key has some wrong answers and that can really mess up your confidence when you think you know what you're doing and the answer key says you're wrong (but you're actually right).The book is available for free online so you can't really complain, unless you like hard copies, like I do.

I was very satisfied with my product, the book was used but it was in like-new condition! It came in the mail on time,and I was very happy to receive it!

I liked that the math instructions are very readable and easy to understand instructions. Excellent examples and practice problems given.

Or is the Elementary Algebra textbook the same as the Pre-Algebra textbook?

I love that I was able to afford a textbook. Most are usually about $145.00. This is a great affordable option and I hope more professors will choose OpenStax books for their classes.

Probably one of the best maths textbooks I have seen, but be warned there are a lot of errors in the answers to the various questions in the book. Got to the point where every time I got a different answer to the book I assumed that they were wrong and not me.There is an online errata which is meant to feed back into future editions of the book but updates don't seem to be that often.Shame as it is a very good textbook.

Dit boek maakt van iedere ouder een onderwijzer(es) hoewel, waarschijnlijk heb je jouw ouders hiervoor niet nodig.Lager onderwijs is ruim voldoende om de uitleg omtrent Algebra te begrijpen, de Engelse taal is geen probleem, indien je een woord niet begrijpt, houdt dan je vinger op dit woord en via het www vindt je devertaling. Wiskunde o.a. Algebra is voor sommigen moeilijk, maar onthoudt 'Oefening baart kunst'. Door de herhalingen die hierin staan, worden de regels één begrip, wanneer deze regels niet geschonden worden is fouten maken onmogelijk. Dus géén snellere manier, die SOMS opgaat, de complete instructies volgen! Dan wordt de wiskunde jouw hobby.

O livro tem uma escrito acessível, mesmo para quem não entende muito de inglês, o texto é escrito de forma técnica, sem o uso de jargões e construção linguísticas informais, como é encontrado nos livros do Deitel ou do Thomas, por exemplo!
