The Radiation Alert Inspector WTP Wipe Test Plate is used with the Inspector series radiation detectors to protect the Geiger-Mueller (G-M) tube from damage and to prevent the instrument from contamination while not in use. This wipe plate is also used as a beta shield for the two-inch detector. A wiped area from a gross wipe count is placed on the wipe test plate, and the plate slides easily into the Inspector body at a fixed 1-cm distance from the detector window, which is an ideal geometry for fixed particle and ray counting. The test plate is removable for general surveying or decontamination processes. It is made of stainless steel 304 for durability. The bottom bracket expands for left and right identification. Basic assembly instructions are included, and the wipe plate comes with a one-year warranty. The Inspector WTP wipe test plate is made of stainless steel 304, and is 0.025” thick. Its overall dimensions are 3.1” x 4.46”, with a circular interior depressed plate surface that is 46 cm wide. It weighs 2.5 ounces, including left and right bracket. Great, sturdy product! I wish it wasn't so expensive. Maybe a little overpriced but you get what you pay for! Definitely recommend the "extreme" version if you are going to be visiting mine sites!

Important accessory
This is an important component for testing food products to prevent contamination of the window but test at an repeatable distance. It also works well for distinguishing gamma radiation from alpha and beta.
