Great tool to sand with, too!
I don't know how I ever lived without this tool. It's so easy to spray paint a guitar body now. It's also sturdy enough to sand a body. My only complaint is that when it arrived it was impossible to turn. I don't know if they painted the tool and then put it together and the paint was still wet or what. I had to squirt some WD-40 to loosen everything up so that it would rotate. Yes, you want some friction so it isn't rotating whenever it wants to, but when I got the tool it was frozen up.

Essential Tool for Painting Guitars
The media could not be loaded. This is really great tool for painting guitars. It was easy to assemble and use. It rotates up and down but I needed it to turn left and right also, so I repurposed old lazy Susan by adding a vise on it and voila - I was able to turn guitar 360 degrees.

This is fantastic!
I love this. It makes painting a guitar so much easier. Only complaint is that it's a little too loose in the vice than I prefer. And I'm tightening the vice as much as I can, but the bar still moves fairly easily.

Buy it... if you don't want or have time to kludge something thing similar
I does exactly what it is supposed to do but I was a bit disappointed in the build quality, especially as compared to other products I've purchased from StewMac.It is a great idea and I tossed around the buy vs. build idea until it was too late and I needed it tomorrow. The good news is it came sooner than promised, it works well enough, and makes spraying breeze. Okay, I should have made or gotten one sooner! My only complaints are about the fit of the rotating pipe. It is the only thing about the device that really matters and it is sloppy. The ends where the pipe slides through (in a better world it might be an actual bushing rather than a larger pipe) are not square so tension varies throughout the rotation. In some spots it turns freely and in other it sticks. While there are adjustable stops at each end, they cannot be used to adjust tension it if the bearing surface are not aligned.I am glad to have it, but expected better for the price, especially from StewMac, which is noted for quality rather than bargains.

guitar holder review
I have been making electric guitars for about 15 years. Always using a piece of wood bolted to the neck cavity of the guitar body. I am getting older now and with artheritis I need something new. I bought this guitar holder reently and I couldn't beleive how easy it was to finish the guitar. I have many hundred of tools and this is the best tool I have . Keep up the good work.
