Eclipse Milk Paint

This milk paint offers great coverage and gives the authentic look of an old painted piece. We sanded some off to distress the piece shown. It is easy to work with and has no odor. I would recommend!!

Color was perfect, application was even better! Will definitely buy again.

The Rust-Oleum Milk Paint Finish in Eclipse is a fantastic product for achieving a beautiful, vintage-style look with minimal effort. Milk paint has always been my go-to for furniture refinishing, and this one did not disappoint. The best qualities of milk paint shine through: it provides excellent adhesion to a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, and even previously painted pieces, with little to no prep work. The velvety matte finish adds a touch of elegance while enhancing the natural texture of the surface. It’s also low odor and fast-drying, which is a big plus for indoor projects. This particular shade, Eclipse, is a rich, deep color that looks stunning on both large furniture pieces and small decorative items. The paint is easy to apply and layers beautifully for a distressed or solid look, depending on your preference. Highly recommend for anyone looking to refresh furniture or add a timeless, rustic charm to their home decor! I used it as the base coat on the table, before painting it white and then distressing.

Definitely paint in thinner coats! it will look streaky after the first coat, but once you apply a second coat it completely smooths out!

I really like the color of this, but it took about four coats to cover a light blue bookshelf. I’m not sure if I would buy this again, although it was nice not having to do any prep work or post work. All said and done, I’m very happy with the final product

Painted our bedroom ceiling. Used the Matt as is for the base then added a gloss medium to the rest and stenciled over the whole thing, came out exactly as I hoped!

The paint applies smoothly with a brush or roller and has a nice creamy consistency that levels well. It creates a soft, velvety matte finish with a subtle brushed texture that gives pieces a modern farmhouse or vintage feel. Coverage was good on both painted and lightly sanded surfaces, and clean-up was simple with soap and water. The quart size was sufficient for a couple of medium projects with some left over. The only minor drawbacks are that it can show brush strokes if not applied carefully on larger flat surfaces, and the drying time is a bit longer in humid conditions. I’ll update after a couple of months to report on long-term durability, scratch resistance, and how well the finish holds up with regular use and cleaning. This is a user-friendly milk paint that delivers a beautiful matte brushed effect with easy application and minimal prep. It’s a good choice for quick furniture makeovers or decorative projects. I’d recommend it for DIYers looking for a low-prep, matte finish paint with a soft, textured look.

First off, this paint applied really nicely. I used it on my oak bathroom cabinets after I cleaned, lightly sanded, and used a de-glosser wipe. I applied three coats and the finished product was as it should be. My only problem is that the white isn't really like a bright white as I had hoped. It almost had a greyish tint to it. With that said, it didn't work for my bathroom and I ended up going another route. I would def try using this product though on other projects. Very easy to use and a little goes a long way! I did three coats to my 60" wide by 21" deep vanity and used only about 1/2 of a quart, if that.

This paint is as expected….high quality, easy to apply with a nice matte finish.

Refurbshing the wooden parts of my old sofa set.

Colour was more like a light grey not white when applied to the furniture

I don’t have much to compare to given this was my first time painting furniture. I see some reviews comparing it to chalk paint. I decided on this type of paint because I did not want to seal it. Paint was easy to use and forgiving. No sanding or prep work. It took four coats of paint. I initially used a brush than roller. One can or quart of paint was plenty. I still have more than a quarter left over. Finish is flat which I like. I am very pleased with the result! Handles are also from Amazon! Adjustable for the odd size. My handles were 3.5 inches and very difficult to find.

The experience with this product made me feel more confident to refinish more of my furniture in the future; it dried super quickly, the coverage was amazing, and the color is beautiful. I'll definitely be buying another one!
